Elite roleplay: Off station

OFF STATION

Your ship, deep space, anything that is not happening inside the Citi Gateway or Ingaba...

General Roleplay Etiquette:

1. Control only the actions of your own character(s). (AKA: God Mode)
This doesn't matter how small the action is, even if it is as simple as scratching their nose or a direct reaction to something else that just happened. This applies to everything from casual conversation to full blown fight scenes. If you'd like someone to do something specific, PM that person, however keep in mind they are completely within their rights to say no. Especially if said action is inappropriate to their character and/or circumstance.

2. Don't brute force your way into another persons RP.
Approaching with a conversation starter is fine, or indeed some other small action. However charging in, guns blazing and disrupting the flow of another person/pair/groups conversation/arc is about as rude as doing so in real life. If something is going on that you'd like to participate in, be subtle about it. Put out a gentle hook for someone to take, but again, be aware that said hook may not be taken. If you fear it was simply unnoticed, PM the person or people it concerns. Or even leave a message in the OOC forums.

3. Good grammar and spelling is preferred.
We're not asking you to be perfect, but please at least demonstrate willingness. no1 iz gna tak u srsly usng txt spk. There's a wide variety of people here, many who speak English as a second, or even third language. There are even some with varying degrees of dyslexia and/or likely other issues that affect spelling/grammar. We accept them all here. However, people who aren't accepted, are those unwilling to accept polite correction. Remember that even a small thing like the placement of a comma, or the wrong use of there/their/they're can completely change the definition of an entire sentence.

4. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and politely.
If someone spots an issue with your writings, they may wish to help you improve that writing. They may do this through PM or even publicly air their thoughts on the OOC forum. If they have taken the time to be polite and explain what is wrong with your writing, the best way to behave is to respond in kind, using the same manner they have approached you with. It means they have taken an active interest in what you have written and wish to see more. Basically, you have a fan!

5. Don't take the actions or opinions of things done IN RP, to be directly relevant to the writers thoughts or opinions.
Basically, if some ones character calls your character a jackass, it doesn't mean the writer thinks you are a jackass. It's a ROLE they are PLAYING. Watch a movie. The argument between the characters isn't an argument between the actors involved. The same applies here.

6. It's not a popularity contest.
Your RP might be bustling with participants. You have 3 people off station in a fire fight, while another 2 are infiltrating the darkest areas of the station, meanwhile a group of 4 others are tracking your movements in an effort to stop you. Good for you, I'm sure it will be a thrilling read! But you know what? Sometimes the absolute BEST work, comes from two RP characters having a simple heart to heart. Both are valid, both are great, but NEITHER is categorically better than the other. Period.

Inara RP Etiquette:

1. Respect the setting and rules of the universe.
Inara is an Elite: Dangerous 3rd Party Tool. The RP Forums are set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Elite: Dangerous has rules, as any fictional universe does from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, or Game of Thrones to Star Trek. If you intend to RP within the Elite: Dangerous universe you are bound by the history and rules of that universe. Simply put, this RP forum is bound by the same rules as the game, so if it can't be done in the game, it is not permitted here. This applies to things from a 50Ly Jump Range on a normal, unmodified Sidewinder, to the destruction of entire stations.

2. Respect the characters created by others.
We have a wide variety of characters already here. It's expected that some will be similar, just as it's expected that two characters will be vastly different. Opinions of each persons character will naturally be varied, but all are valid provided they follow the rules of the universe. You are allowed to interact with, or avoid interaction with, any character in the RP forums. But you have no right to belittle others for their creation. You are not an authority figure on writing, nor are you directly affected by another persons imagination. You might not like it, but you MUST respect it.

3. Be caught up on current events before joining in.
You need basic things like character descriptions in order to interact with them. You also need to know what's going on in the surrounding areas. This is simply because the people you are hoping to RP with, might be gearing up to something that you might not want to be part of. Or simply that the most recent post, out of context, could leave a different impression on the goings on than if you gather that context. We don't expect you to read every single post from the beginning of the forums, just enough to get that basic understanding.

4. Either subscribe to, or frequently check, the Roleplay: Q&A and OOC forum.
People may be discussing something relevant to you there, or even discussing you directly. Perhaps someone asked what the general consensus on the existence or non-existence of a certain object. Or we're just chatting about random gibberish. Either way, be aware of it and use it. If you're unsure about something, such as how guns would look and or behave, or even the music selection, use the OOC forum to ask. We don't have all of the answers, but the collective knowledge and logic usually allows us to overcome an issue and come to a decision on what should be allowed. Frontier Developments, and even David Braben himself, don't have the answers to every possible question that can be asked.

5. Large Scale events exploding out of nowhere are a complete no go.
We get it. Everyone wants their character to be noticed and for people to be tripping over themselves to interact with them. In some audiences, an introduction involving you blasting in for landing in a fiery wreckage of a ship, before cart wheeling out and sword fighting 35 Ninjas before whisking off with the local celebrity for a glorious night of passion, is in fact, cool. This is not one of those audiences. It is generally considered better to build your character up slowly over time. Eventually, you might even have a legitimate excuse to fight those Ninjas. Maybe even with other RP participants by your side.

6. Perfect characters are boring.
The point of a character arc, is that it is in fact, an arc shape. One who is morally unquestionable, fully kitted out and an infinite fountain of knowledge, cannot go through an arc. Give your character flaws. Be it a tendency towards befriending the wrong people, or a bad knee that frequently gives out at inopportune moments. It gives readers something to latch onto and empathise with. You can give your character exceptional capabilities at something, but it requires balance. She's a damn good pilot with no equal, but can't drive an SRV for peanuts. It can lead to some very interesting moments between characters, be it heartfelt or comedic.

Other Notes:
It should be noted that there can be exceptions to these points. For example, good grammar when a character is speaking is actually rare. Few people in real life actually speak with perfect eloquence after all. Or previously arranged actions during a fight scene, such as someone stumbling back after a punch. What's key to remember is context.

All in all, remember this is purely for fun. We have some seriously talented writers here, and others whose writing history starts and ends at high school. But many are willing to help out in whatever way they can. All it takes is that you ask nicely.

Also keep in mind that many people who RP here, also have logbook stories related to the character, or characters, they portray. If it looks like there's an "in joke" going on that you're unsure of, it's probably in those.

In fact, some users have even gone to the trouble of creating "alts" to RP with. If you read back far enough, it's usually pretty clear who has and hasn't, and which ones are the "alts". It's therefore not unheard of to see the apparent seizing of control of other characters. If you do spot one, point it out in the OOC section. If intervention is needed, it will be sorted quickly and (hopefully) politely.

Most, if not all RP participants here have Logbook stories pertaining to their character(s). These are for the reading pleasure of anyone who wishes to do so. While it can be useful to read them in order to gain a bit of backstory on a character you wish to interact with, it should not be assumed that your character shares that knowledge. Within the E:D Universe, these Logbooks either don't exist, or are private diaries kept by the characters. Either way, without explicit statements to say otherwise from the writer, your interactions should reflect that your character is in the dark about any information you, the writer/reader, have gained from reading the stories.

“Oh yes of course, how silly of me. Little Mauliepoo-Pops needs a shoulder to cry on so naturally, he goes to the one person that’s stood by him for months or years. The girl that’s been with him suffering his glum face for days on end just for the chance to be the support he needs”

The whisk left the bowl covered in cholate mix and Lamb held it like an exclamation mark and started talking in a fast sing-song voice.

“Nope the selfish moron decides to go find comfort with his rich successful ex that swooped in and took charge at the darkest hour. Good heavens, Mrs Sonders is indeed lucky to have a man that cares so much about her, he’ll underline just how much she is wasting her life on him at every given opportunity”

The whisk dropped back into the cake mix. Well, it should of but Lamb forgot about the low gravity and pushing it into the goop didn’t have the same effect. There wasn’t even a satisfying splat sound.

“You see, that is your issue right there Mr Montresor. You are unable to balance your sense of right and wrong with your criminal nature or the nature of the world you have chosen to be a part of. You are a career criminal and you know you should be punished, but like every right-minded person, you don’t want to be at the mercy of others, so you punish yourself”

“As the stakes get higher, you see no way other than to meet the challenge because that’s the world you live in. The gilt you feel raises with wrongs you do until your drowning yourself. It’s still not enough. That will not be fixed until you step away and live a happy nine-to-five life”

Lambast stopped what she was doing to make eye contact with Maul.

“I don’t doubt you have at least had enough credits in your sticky mitts go become good honest .. . computer fixer man or something, but you, obviously, have chosen otherwise”

Another bowl, another flavour, and more vigorous mixing; Lamb sent the chocolate covered whisk tumbling towards Maul. Lamb really didn’t have a clue if she was helping Maul or not, but honesty was always the best policy with friends. The only thing Lambast sugar-coated was the fruit she decorated cakes with.

“Balance will only come into your life when you learn to limit your actions or let go of the pointless guilt. Oh, and I do understand Mrs Sonders knows we were never a thing, but the seed of doubt grows best when a young woman is kept in the dark. Understand me? Most of all, stop stalking that other woman. That's creepy and disgusting; sounds like you have one hand on the keys and the other under the desk. She's moved on, so should you. That takes self-punishment to a new level"

Maul stood up and grabbed the whisk, pointing it back at Lamb, with the familiar angry look on his face.

"Balance?! YOU want to talk about balance?!" Maul laughed.

"I've seen how pent up you've been lately.  It seems to me that you're struggling to 'balance' something as well. You might be good at masking your emotions with words, but your face betrays you, Ms. Mercy!"

He angrily licked some chocolate off part of the whisk.

"And I'm not stalking 'that other woman' either. I only keep tabs on her to make sure that some goons from my past don't poke around and try to ruin the life she worked hard for. I AM capable of caring for people without having romantic feelings for them, you know!"

Maul finally sat back down and continued cleaning the whisk with his taste buds.

"Like you, for example. You think after I left Robigo that I'd just stop keeping an eye on you? I mean I did eventually because I wanted to move on from what had happened but yea, I stuck around in the station security's database longer than you probably thought."

The next words out of Maul's mouth was something he'd never wanted to bring to light, but he had clearly lost control at this point.

"I bet you didn't know that some shmuck happened upon the wreckage of Charlie Twice's ship, did you?"

“Nope, didn’t know and don’t care. I don’t even know who Mr Twice is to be honest”

Lamb looked at Maul and smiled.

“Oh do sit down and stop waggling that whisk around like a weapon. You couldn’t hurt me with it even if you sharpened it. Besides your angary face looks ridicules with chocolate cake mix all over your bead”

Her attention returned to the cakes.

“Naturally I have feelings, I am human after all. Unlike you however, I do speak to my friend about them and take steps to deal with it instead of brooding about like a teenage angst-generator. That is one of the few benefits of putting up with friends don’ch know?”

Orange cake was the ticket for Mr Cousland. He did enjoy a little zest in his sweets.

“I have some terrible news for you Mr Montresor; you are stalking that poor woman and it is creepy. Girls don’t like being spied on in the slightest. No good will come of it mark my words. You’re imputing her husband by funneling probably stolen money to her. If he finds out, he’ll think she’s up to no good, or at the very least think she’s cheating on him for money. She is not your concern anymore, leave the poor woman alone. If anything, you’re drawing more attention to her should anyone look into your dealings. Oh, have I mentioned women find it very disturbing when a chap stalks them? I feel that point need underlining”

“What’s more young man” Said Lambast jabbing another hand whisk at Maul “it’s a further demonstration of you mantel self-flagellation”

Flinging her head back and pressing the back of her hand to her forehead, Lambast childishly pantomimed her point.

“Oh I’m Maul” She groaned in a deep sullen voice “I’ll watch an old flame from afar. Torturing myself with what could have been because I don’t deserve the happiness she has found. Oooh and now there’s someone new so I’ll shun her too and make her thoroughly miserable because happy people make me sad now. Oh I’m so hard done by, boo hoo hoo”

It was a little cruel needling him with Vega again, but it had defiantly prickled him the first time around. Lambast felt that if Maul could see the unhappiness his insular attitude was causing in someone he cared about, maybe he would open up to the woman a bit and let her help him get over his need to punish himself.

Maul sat there speechless, with a frown. He was pissed off about her mocking him, but something else that Lamb had said was scratching at that part of his mind that he often wonders to.

"...How do you do that?" Maul asked. "How the hell do you just not care about the things you've done? Because I know that you've done shit that'd be hard for any other person to live with."

"Do you really not remember Twice? You...you killed the guy, Lamb...and not in some 'heat of the moment' way either...it was...kind of disturbing...theatrical even..."

“That’s not a quality to be admired Mr Montresor, that’s evidence of my unhinged mind. I should be locked up, preferably executed”

The mixing stopped so Lambast could flash Maul a smile.

“I don’t believe society should be excepted to support the irredeemable” she said before returning to her task.

“I’m like you in a lot of ways you see; I know what I do is wrong, so I overcompensate with acts like this” An expansive wave of Lambasts arm encompassed the preparations in the galley. “As you well know, it is an act. I play the part of the dutiful hostess, dedicated friend and champion of decency to atone for being a dehumanised aberration” Realising she was starting to sound very dower and stern, Lamb imparted her next line with a more jovial voice “I have documents from enlightened experts stating that clearly don’ch know?”

Lambast stopped talking and bit her bottom lip trying to find a way to explain her fractured mind to the man. It was an expansive topic with many contradictions, same as any sane mind and far too much to chat about right now. With a shrug, she continued.

“I am at peace with what I am and I think that’s why I don’t slip deeper into my own head. This act, I’ve maintained for so long it’s become a habit and fortunately a tough one to break. Sometimes I almost believe the lie myself”

Lambast realised she had been talking about herself too much and with an abundance of candour.  Her friend needed to unburden himself, not take on her delusions alongside his own.

“Still, that’s me and I’m not the one slipping into depression while denying one of the few things that could help turn that around.”

Again the mixing stopped so Lambast could advertise she was giving Maul her full attention.

“Companionship Mr Montresor is the point of human existence” Lambast broke eye contact for a moment “Well no it’s procreation, but people like you shouldn’t be allowed to breed and children need to be limited to couples that have passed some sort of vetting process. Still, the point stands” she continued with the same conviction she had started with “and denying yourself the pleasure of a partner that cares for you will just push you deeper into an abyss of your own making and damage her too.

That was almost right. Something was missing; a comment that would put a full stop on the given advice and make Maul really think about himself and how he affected those that cared for him. A closing statement came to mind.

“You selfish prick”

“Yes” thought Lambast “That was juuust right”
21 Jan 2021, 5:39pm
Rex RaglanShe sat closer. "I'm going to miss you Raglan. Make sure you don't stay away too long. Shall we go?"

"Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it" he reassured her.

As they stood up he took her hand.

"I'll program my comm code into your ship system when we get to Inara, that way we can videocall so you can see I'm still alive"

They headed back to the hotel slowly.

Descartes tapped off a few quick messages as they walked, looking for a few inside tips about what was worth loading into her ship. Already her mind stated to think about work.

Back in their hotel room:

By the time Raglan had closed the door, Descartes had slipped out of her dress and stepped out of her underwear. Tossing her discarded clothes onto one of the beds and walking towards the shower she looked back over her shoulder.,

"Lose your kit their Raglan, I'll help you wash off the station grime."

Lambast MercyThat was almost right. Something was missing; a comment that would put a full stop on the given advice and make Maul really think about himself and how he affected those that cared for him. A closing statement came to mind.

“You selfish prick”

“Yes” thought Lambast “That was juuust right”

After that, The room was soaked in silence, with only the occasional thump from Lamb, as she continued with her ingredients.

Maul scratched his beard lightly before putting his hands on his knees and pushing back to stretch. He let out an audible grunt followed by an exhale.

"Well then..." He said, relaxing into his seat again.

"I guess we're both a bit fucked, huh?"

He then stood up and carried the mixing bowl and whisk that he'd previously 'cleaned' and placed them in the designated 'dirty dish cubby', sealing it shut to prevent them from floating around. This placed him just a few steps from Lamb.

"For a complete nutcase, you can be alright sometimes." He said with a smirk, looking over at Lamb.

He stepped away back towards his seat, making sure not to linger around the counters too long, as to not be in her way.

"You're right. I'm going to have a talk with Vega later. Get that shit sorted" He said as he nodded. "...And you're also right about the other girl. What I'm doing could put her in danger. I've got to let it go. I should have let it go when I realized she was safe and getting along well."

He sat back down and leaned back with his arms crossed.

"I'm also done hurting people, unless it's absolutely necessary. If there's a way to avoid a fight, that's what needs to be done. There's plenty of ways of destroying people without physically harming them."
21 Jan 2021, 6:07pm
“You mean I actually helped?” Said Lambast looking up from the oven in genuine surprise.

Usually when Lambast gave people her opinion, they never talk to her again with the exception of Kaisla.

“Also, I’m not a mess as you seem to think. I’m content with my issues and the act I try to maintain. Now, as you seem to be at a loose end I believe you told me I would need a new transponder because you comprised the Hands’ retrieving traffic data from the Nav Beacon when we entered this system. You should easily find one on a pirate station don’t you think?”

With the last cake in the oven, it was time to start on the pastries.

“You know where the safe is Mr Montresor; help yourself to any funds you require there’s a good chap”
21 Jan 2021, 6:49pm
"Yeah, I'll look into a new transponder. Should be a piece of cake." He said, glaring at the mixing bowl, half hoping Lamb would catch his joke.

He began to make his way to the exit but felt like expressing himself once more.

"You know, you may not think you're a mess but, I mean, you're kind of a confusing, murderous, psychopath, who I also think may have OCD. Besides that though, there's clearly a decent person in there somewhere. You kill people and enjoy it, which is fucked, but you tend to kill people who are quite honestly just awful. It doesn't make it right. None of the killing either of us have done can be seen as 'right'. But it means that there is something of a conscience in that head of yours. You said you put on this act so much and so well that you start believing the lie yourself sometimes. Have you ever thought that it may not be an act anymore? It may just be...well...you."

It was strange to feel safe enough around Lamb that he could tell her anything, when realistically, she could kill him in a second if she desired, but Maul knew she didn't want that.

"I don't know. Life...and people...they're complicated for a reason, I suppose."
21 Jan 2021, 7:35pm
"Lose your kit there Raglan, I'll help you wash off the station grime."

He did as she requested and slipped into the shower beside her. There was just enough room for them both.

He enveloped her in his arms and kissed her neck as he ran his hands slowly over her upper body, lathering the soap she had just applied.

She breathed more heavily as her arms reached behind her to pull him closer, as if that were possible.

They lingered for a few minutes, exploring one another before reaching for towels and slowly drying each other.

He swept her in his arms and carried her to the bed, lowering her gently.

He lay beside her and their bodies intertwined as they became one entity.

Amata Lirein
Ao!An voice filled the cockpit of the Unicorn, Alphonse, a less advanced copy of Leo from the Yamato spoke:
"Warning! An unidentified heat signiture has been detected, relative bearing 210 degrees by -10 degrees.
Sensors indicate hardpoints are deployed"
Commander Edge cursed loudly:
"Red Alert! All hands to battle stations, fighters, emergency sortie, divert power to the sheilds and weapons!"

The normally bright cockpit went dark, before being bathed in an eerie red light.
The whirr of machinery as the turreted beam lasers and multi cannons extended from the hull and the Unicorn's engines flared to life as the hulking cutter, setup as a fighter carrier and support ship turned about to face the incoming hostile.

"Commander Edge to Kongo and Starlight Lady, defenceive formation B, protect the Arstarte at all costs! Lupus in Fabula! We are the Wolf, speak our name and we shall come!"

The Kongo, a python gunboat, every hardpoint loaded with corrosive multicannons and packhound racks took up position between in incoming signal and the Arstarte, starlight lady moved into position above and behind the Arstarte, deploying its own hard points, standard mix of pulse lasers and multi cannons, with one exception; The turreted repair beam mounted in the starboard nacelle, it turned on the Astarte and fired on low power.
As long as the starlight lady could maintain weapon power, the Astarte could not be harmed.

The opening wave of the attack reached them in moments:
The incoming limpets were quickly turned to dust by the defending ship's point defence systems.

The two condor fighters, both rigged for speed and sheild breaching began their run.
The paid tore through the night, it was difficult to make out the ship type at this distance but the telltale glint of the cockpit screen was clearly visable in the starlight.

They opened with a quick one - two style attack, one behind the other the two fighters strafed along the hull of the attacking ship, taking special care to land as many hits as possible on the glass.
On their own fighters will only do minor damage to even modest shields, but still the psyhological effect of knowing that if those shields had failed that blast would have melted your face would make even the most battle hardned commander wet their remlock.

"Alphonse, relay all battle data to my heads up display and send an emergency ping to the starwolf with our location requesting support, there is no garuntee there is only the one ship!"

"Aye Aye, ping is away"

"Incoming hatch-breaker limpet!" Gerhard chirped in right into the conversation with Amata's escorts. What the hell? she thought as the vibrations of a large ship buzzing by made the cockpit windows vibrate. "Well, Gerhard, never thought I would have to say this as we're usually alone on board, but... Chime the ship-wide alert. Battle Stations. And deploy hardpoints." "Yes, Commander."

She quickly checked her radar to see where the attacker went before opening comms again. "Astarte to escorts, don't worry about those hatchbreakers. The cargo bay is empty, so let him waste those if he wants to. Worst that could happen is that I need to repressurize it later." She then accelerated to full speed, trying to get her escorts between the ship and the mysterious attacker, hoping that Jason, who was the more experienced combat pilot, could relieve her before things got too heated.

Edge felt the power at his fingertips as the Unicorn, paint glinting in the starlight charged onwards, the emerald glow of the prismatics flashing as the fire from the hostile ship lashed across the hull, once more he squeezed the trigger, the Unicorn's weapons fired true.

The enemy's shield flickered and failed, the flare of fighter engines dazzled him as the two condors began their next run, swooping in low over the Unicorn, there was a cloud of compressed air, the enemy's canopy had ruptured.

Edge selected the cockpit from the submenu, and fired, in a flash of light...the enemy cockpit, and the pilot inside, were vaporised.

"Commander Edge to all ships, report in, Astarte, how are you guys holding up?"
22 Jan 2021, 7:48pm
Amata let out a sigh of relief as she saw the cockpit of the hostile ship desintigrate. "Gerhard, retract hardpoints and turn off the shipwide alert." She then closed in towards her escorts again while running a quick ship diagnostics. There was some minor damage to the cargobay's lock, but it was well within the safety regulations, so no need to worry. All other systems were fully operational. "Astarte to Commander Edge, all systems are green, and the crew and I are fine. I do assume though they were not expecting to get woken up so loudly, so you guys better have some really good coffee on that carrrier."
25 Jan 2021, 12:05am
Kate had drawn the short straw and was stuck with the night shift on deck. “3am and all’s well” Kate called out to no one at all. Jim was down in his cabin below decks and Effie had retired before midnight in a clearly melancholy mood.

Kate knew her friend had someone on her mind. She pulled up her comms panel, opened her contacts and started to type into it. “Red Fox to Grey Squirrel, any sign of our bird?”

She stood up from her chair and walked over to the starboard coffee maker. Kate always made a point of deliberately choosing to use the starboard coffee maker, because the fact that she actually had an option to choose between using a coffee maker that was located in the starboard panel of the Rocinante’s flight deck, or another, absolutely identical coffee maker which was located in the port side panel always made her smile on the inside.

She sniggered slightly. “What kind of a person would spec a ship with two identical coffee makers on the bridge? Effie Trinket would!” She rolled her eyes as the fresh brew frothed up in the cup.

Just then her comms panel pinged. She took her sippy cup back to her chair and pulled up comms.

“The Eagle has landed” was the brief reply from their friend in charge of the Hanger Deck back at Inara Station.

Opening the Nav panel, Kate plotted their course back to Inara. “No need to wake Effie just yet” she thought...

Descartes woke early, entangled in Raglan and a sheet to discover that part of him was awake ahead of her. She toyed with the idea of gently sliding over him so that by the time he was fully awake, part of him was exactly where evolution dictated.

Instead she left him gently snoring and made ready to leave for her ship, promising herself some weightless evolutionary pleasure with him somewhere between planets.

Rex slowly opened his eyes and listened.

He could hear the distant sounds of trollies clattering as the hotel cleaners went about their work, and even further away, the very faint voice of the PA system operator in the station docks.

He slid out of bed and made his way to the shower, knowing instinctively that he was alone in the room. Once he had showered and shaved he dressed in his usual jeans and white button-down shirt.

He noticed a piece of notepaper on the desk and picked it up.
It read:

"Raglan, gone to the docks to ready the ship. see you on board when you get your energy back D. xx"

He smiled, remembering that he wasn't the only one breathing heavily last night.

Arriving at the docks he visited the kiosk at the entrance and bought a couple of chocolate bars.

He found the ship in the hangar and made his way through the open entrance door and onto the bridge.

She was sitting in the command seat doing a systems check, and looked round at him as he entered.

"Chocolate?", he asked her with a grin... "I hear it's good for recovering lost energy"
