CMDR Bordawin was born in the back of a long haul freighter. The son of deep space traders. For his first year, he knew only the scarred plates of the ship and the void of space.  His formative years were spent on the shipping lanes between Ackerman Market in Eravate and Darnell's Progress in Maia. His parents were some of the first to specialize in transporting Meta-Alloys after the barnacles were discovered.

Both parents were from the federation, so He eventually tried the Federal Academy, but extensive knowledge and skill couldn't overcome a lack of military discipline. After washing out and spending years working for other traders, He eventually realized that he was meant to be an independent pilot. It was while in Pilot's Federation testing that his parent's ship disappeared. His love of the deep black stems from the memories of his childhood and the improbable hope of finding them out there.
