Cmdr Birdnose (as they were dubbed by a human license clerk with a sense of humor; real name ⏊⋈≻○) is from an obscure alien race of somewhat birdlike bipeds - sometimes known as the Aviot. Arriving at the fringe of the human bubble on a long-range packet freighter, Birdnose obtained a regulation Sidewinder and has been exploring human space and its culture ever since.
