I was only 9 years old when a Federation patrol ship found me in an outdated escape pod. They were the first people I ever met that weren't born in the same place as me. Im sure many of you have heard of the ancient "Generation Ships", some are still out there traveling through the gaps in-between solar systems. It just so happens I was born on one of those ships. The name of my home was long lost due to a catastrophic accident where a riot occurred onboard and the rioters set fire to the server room destroying a vast majority of the digital files held on board. Thankfully that was the extent of their damage allowing me to have been born aboard that ship 5 centuries later. When the records onboard were lost the ships population had trouble continuing governance due to lack of proper systems and information so a more tough "Democracy" was created. Throughout the years our population constantly was at odds with our totalian rulers every so slowly wearing does the systems of the ship. Eventually around the time I was bore the ships green room began to fail killing a majority of our food therefore eliminating almost all of the food. Life was tough through these years with data by famine becoming the norm. Eventually there was nothing left other than barley a years left of rations with no way of reproduction and way more people than escape pods. many stole these pods for themselves or sent their children off alone into the depths of space hoping maybe someway somehow their child would be saved. I was one of those children thankfully after only a month or so the patrol that found me came by leading me to the life I live today. It haunts me to know that somewhere unknown my family may be dead or alive still traveling through the darkness with no hope of reaching their destination, also somewhere someone else may be as lucky as I to have made it to safety. I hope one day to meet that person.
