Mcnalu was born in a Hauler in the Banese system though conceived in a Cobra Mk I in orbit around Gatolla C1. He grew up an orphan deck hand on various freighters but quickly learned the skill of imperial quantum bit mapping making him invaluable to commanders with a penchant for exploring. In time Mcnalu became a commander and noted explorer himself setting records for trips in his heavily engineered sidewider known simply as The Flatulence. After mistakenly reprogramming his docking computer to play Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin rather than the more sedate Blue Danube he suffered a catastrophic hyperjump malfunction which sent him into the Andromeda galaxy. The return journey took him 37 years and nearly broke his spirit hence his haggard and grizzled demeanour. McNalu likes spiders and believes that Thargoids are much misunderstood though he'd shoot them on site.
