For me, I chose Colonia. Don't get me wrong there's nothing to do here, the place is as dull as hell, but I've just got a feeling. There's permit-locked systems and regions out in this part of the galaxy, and a lot of them. What's in them? What are the Pilot's Federation hiding? That was my motivation to make it to Elite, to try and get in with those people to find out what they know. That didn't work, they're like some kind of illuminati.
So I base myself at Colonia, hoping that one day I'll be able to sneak past the perimeter sensors. Could it be Guardians? There have been Guardian sites discovered out this way, hell there might even be some of them still alive on some god forsaken rock somewhere, I guess those guys don't do atmosphere, I'll make sure not to invite them to a party if I do meet one. Maybe it's something else, an alien race we've not met yet, well not officially.
Other than that I keep myself busy with Cygnus, that's my carrier. I'm not interested in all this colonisation stuff but I've got some credits for David to help him build his wagon train to the stars. Cygnus is stationed at Black in Green, about 4,000 ly from the centre of the galaxy. It's a beautiful system with a single black hole, surrounded by a stunning green nebula. No wonder they put a tourist station there. I leave Cygnus as a resource for fellow Commanders. It's got all the facilities they need, and a bar with amazing views.
Anyway, I got lucky. The Pilot's Federation or some other such authority banned carriers from jumping in. Cygnus was there before the ban was imposed so sits there, all alone in the mist. So long as I don't move her they tell me she can stay, but I've got no plans for that, hell the damn thing even makes a profit, pays for itself. She just sits there, at the mouth of the black hole, tempting it to try and take her on.
I like Colonia. There's gankers, a-holes, and too many people trying to get rich quick in the bubble. Not to mention the Thargoids, they're never going to go away. So I spend my days watching those permit-locked regions, wondering what's in there, because the moment I get an opportunity to get in... I'm going, no matter what I'll find inside.
