John was always curious of the legends of explorers, and of the 'Thargoid Menace' but never thought he'd become one to bear witness to either. Upon reaching the age of 23, he became both. He earned his piloting licenses and set out into the vast. He was born in the Pleiades nebula, but lived in the bubble his entire life from age 4 onward. So, upon purchasing an Asp Explorer at 24 at the edge of the bubble, he began his delve into exploration. He spent about a month in the Pleiades before eventually venturing to visit old world legendary spatial bodies and interest-points, standard hotspots, in preparation for an expedition to the galactic core. He gave up on said expedition upon hearing the Thargoids had returned, and sped back to his original birthplace to do research there. Currently he's a freelance cargo/passenger runner, bounty hunter and explorer looking for a place to belong. He doesn't really agree with any governmental powers, so he remains unaffiliated for the moment.
