Shojiro was born in 3282 somewhere in the Tokyo megalopolis on earth. He spent his early years engrossed in every book (of the old paper kind) he could find, and every penny he could find went towards procuring him more. His fascinations settled on space travel and the wonders of the galaxy beyond his birthworld.

His father, a renowned chef, was hired by several offworld nobles to serve them on their travels, and so Shojiro took to the stars. He worked alongside his father in the kitchen for the rest of his childhood, stealing free moments to sneak into the yacht's cockpit, where he built a healthy relationship with the command crew. In secret, he did his understudy of piloting under the ship's captain, CO, and the rest of the command crew, and left at the age of 18 to get his license and his own ship thanks to a small early inheritance from his father.

He obtained his licence not long after, bought a cheap ship, and departed on his own.
