Cmdr. Rigel Chiokis was born in the Sol system, on Earth, the country of Canada, province of Ontario, town of Elliot Lake. Throughout his life he spent his time watching aircraft and space craft passing overhead. He gazed at the stars at night and wondered what they looked like from out there. After completing a Phd in Astrophysics, he spent some time at Universal Cartographics. When the Pilot's Federation put out the call for new commanders, he filed his application immediately and was accepted. He rode a passenger liner out to Baker's Prospect, in the Asellus Primus system. On December 24, 3304, he launched with his shiny new Sidewinder. Once he had a feel for the ship, he started exploring, earning credits and working his way up to larger ships that could jump further. He has since made the trip to Beagle Point, been to Colonia twice, visited Saggitarius A* twice and has been out to the "east" end of the galaxy. Currently, he owns one of each type of personal ship and a fleet carrier named Callbase Capricorn. He uses the fleet carrier as a mobile base of operations allowing him to stay out in the far flung reaches of the galaxy. At present, he is conducting a detailed survey of a 1 million cubic light year volume of the galaxy (100 ly x 100 ly x 100 ly). (Note: he has completed that survey.)
