I was born at Adams Market in Eotienses in 3280. My father, brother of Denton Patreus, met my mother there and since Denton was working his way up to become Senator, it was a good place to start a family. I grew up travelling all around the bubble with my parents and my brother. Our family had close ties to the Duval family, so politics and intergalactic happenings were always something I was aware of. My family always had enormous wealth. The Patreus family always had a knack for having copious amounts of income from many sources. It was something my grandfather taught his sons, and in turn was passed on to my brother and I. Growing up, I always had the best education, the best "things", and the most opportunity out of anyone I knew. The only person who had more, that I knew of, was Aisling Duval. Since she was in line for royalty, it wasn't surprising that even at a young age she had anything she wanted. I wasn't near her home system though, and the competition never really happened between us that would have made us rivals. Instead, she and I became close friends to the point where we could have been, and often were mistaken as, sisters. When I was 18 I received my Sidewinder as many do, and I named it Sparkler. It had a knack for periodically overheating for no reason and liked to spit sparks out of every crack in the plating. It didn't help that I liked to push it to its absolute limits. I won many races in that little ship and set many records. It was always the envy of my friends due to being far more upgraded than their standard ships. Everything was going well for me in my life. I was set to start working my way up through the Empire's rank structure and earn my place as a Princess to carry on my family name. I even had a boyfriend from a well known and respected family. I had contacts throughout the bubble I was working with to set up a trade route that would have made me millions, and I had dreams of making my way to the core of the galaxy. At the age of 20, my mother commissioned a study that would take her and a team far across the galaxy in search of some rare material.. or so we were told. Rumors were that she was actually part of a top secret team that was seeking out Thargoid homeworlds. While she was gone, my father was captain of a Majestic Class Interdictor. He was dispatched to many Combat Zones to squash rebellion, eliminate pirates, and whatever it is a military commander does. My brother was flying his own Clipper he had won in a bet and setting up a smuggling run through federation space that would have netted him millions in illicit cargo. It call came crashing down in the matter of a month in 3303. It was towards the end of the year when I had returned to Adams Market after being gone for nearly a year. I had learned that some deep space explorers had been sent to track down my mother and her research team. They ended up finding a destroyed Clipper in the system my mother had last reported from and they believed it to be her's. They figured, who else would have been out there in a Clipper in that exact system. Apparently, though, some inside sources I had discovered years earlier had more information than I was "officially" given. From my understanding, pieces of her ship were found to have been damaged by some sort of weapon that wasn't of human design. There were also reports of a Thargoid hive in the same system that her ship was found in. Two weeks later, my father was on his way home in his personal Cutter and was interdicted by an unknown CMDR. My father was a brilliant combat pilot, revered amongst the bubble and known not only by his skill, prowess, and honor, but for his unique ship as well. There isn't a star system in the bubble that wouldn't recognize it. Reports say that a lone CMDR had a ship that seemed "immortal". It was as if it could move like a fighter despite its immense size, and that its shields never drained. I've heard of these rumored CMDRs elsewhere in the bubble but never encountered them myself. My brother died a few days later. While travelling to my father's funeral ceremony, he was recognized by an old family rival who sold out his whereabouts to a roaming assassination fleet. A CMDR killed my brother without remorse.. for a few lousy credits. At that point, I knew there was something going on in circles above my standing and I needed to disappear for a while. I left in 3304, and went to Zachary Hudson. At the time, the Empire and Federation had been working on ways to strengthen relations between the two powers. It seemed the safest place for me would be under his watch, especially since Aisling and Jordan Rochester were engaged. Very few knew of this yet, but being like her sister had it's advantages. I went to Gresley Station in Nanomam and started working for the federation. I worked my way up to Rear Admiral in a short time and Zachary took notice. Upon my promotion to Rear Admiral with Distinction in July, 3304, I was introduced to his son at the promotion ceremony. The idea presented to me privately was that since Aisling and Jordan had become engaged, it would be beneficial to the relationship between the Federation and the Empire if I took a liking to Zachary's son. Another prominent couple coming together would send a strong message, especially since Aisling and Jordan's engagement was sudden and raised a lot of controversy. Needless to say, I was not a fan of this idea at all. I had my own plans, and this would permanently alter the rest of my life in a way that I had no control over. I did, however, out of respect agree to go on a date with him just to show that I entertained the idea and would give it some thought. August 21, 3304 was one of the scariest nights of my life. It was the night of our date, and it didn't go well from the start. Zachary's son is a pompous ass. I thought men in the Empire were puffed up and full of themselves, but it seems the Federation has it's fair share as well. I've never met a more disrespectful, self serving, arrogant, or selfish person in my life. This man had been spoiled during his upbringing, and it showed in every way. I suffered through our dinner date, and at the end I made it clear I was leaving to return to my residence. Upon being dropped off, my date knew he had blown it from the look of sheer disgust on my face. He asked me if he could step inside briefly to relieve himself from all the drink he had consumed. I allowed it, and after he was finished and returning to the door, he tried one last attempt at changing my mind about a possible future together. I rejected it, which sent him into an angry fit. He figured, if there was no chance at having my hand in marriage later on, he would have my body in lust and dispose of me afterwards. He practically said as much in his fit. I ended up fighting him off. Having been raised the daughter of an elite fighter, and near sister status best friend of Princess Duval, I had been taught a myriad of martial arts techniques and styles for self defense and fitness training. It wasn't terribly difficult, as this would be assailant was drunk and had about as much strength as a starved slave. I did need to make a hasty escape though, and left in my Corvette name Gungnir for Imperial space after blowing up half the station to distract any would be pursuers. I ran straight to Aisling Duval, and upon hearing everything that had happened, decided it was time to cut ties with the Federation. Apparently, she wasn't happy with her arrangement either and had secretly fallen in love with Jarl Toredo anyways. To save her image, she had Jarl spill that she and him were romantically involved and had been for months. This abruptly ended her wedding plans which were scheduled for three days later. Federation authorites were notified of what happened, and the entire incident was swept under the rug. It's best if I don't return to Federation space for a while though. I've kept my rank and prestige, but I know that Hudson has it out for me and has many, many friends who will help him for credits as well. For the next eleven months I kept a low profile. I took jobs as a freighter, or passenger captain. I mined for void opals and low temperature diamonds. I even operated as a designated courier for a time. I basically did anything low key enough to not make a name, but to earn me enough reputation to advance in rank. I've made it to Knight, but at this point, it's slow going. I'm working my way towards Princess, and will eventually be a Queen if only I could ever find a suitable Prince to marry. Those dreams are far off though, and they seem sort of childish and naive at this point. I have recently joined the Paladin Consortium. It is my hope that their ideals and goals can help me with mine. They appear to be a fair mix of various pilots, with various backgrounds, from around the bubble. They hold a common belief at heart and like the knights from thousands of years ago, they can not tolerate injustice or disreputable people who have their own self interests in mind. I'm hoping that I can gain favor with them, and that perhaps when I have achieved my due rank in the Empire, bought a Cutter and outfitted it as my father's was, and made a name for myself, I can finally seek out my brother's assassin and then follow the path that leads me to discover what truly happened to my mother. Perhaps, a few of these band of brothers would accompany me on this adventure/quest. The future is uncertain and always changing. For now, I station myself at Fairey Station in the Ch'Eng system and continue my rank assension. To those who care to have made it this far, I hope to see you out there. As always, may the stars guide you, may the heavens love you, may the gods fear you, and may your ship stay true.
