The original 1984 Elite on the BBC-B Microcomputer was my schoolboy obsession. Having picked up Elite:Dangerous Horizons during a Steam sale in 2018, I've realised that not only are things a WHOLE LOT more complicated than in the wire-frame graphics game I played all those years ago, but also that the game's amazing community is hugely knowledgeable and willing to help! Loving the sheer scale of the galaxy, the lore, the background simulation, and the fact that you can disappear into the black for weeks on end and be awed by sights that literally no-one else has set eyes on, especially with the graphical improvements that Odyssey has brought.
