Bio collated by Alliance officials:
Details of Blaide’s service record prior to enlisting in the Alliance are incomplete. He received his initial training and military experience in the Imperial Navy. He left the Navy and the Empire around 3301 but his reasons for doing so are not widely known and Blaide himself has not been forthcoming regarding the subject. It is notable, however, that he displays a marked distaste for the Empire hinting at deep resentment for his roots. After leaving the Imperial Navy, he enlisted in the ranks of a private mercenary corporation (Delta Squadron) in 3301 and served in the corporation’s fleet until early 3303. The circumstances of his departure from DS are muddled and Blaide himself has not - characteristically - divulged any details. It is known, that he was struck off as “Missing in Action” and then “Killed in Action” following an ambush which left his ship adrift in the Auscabs system with Blaide himself missing. For six months, Blaide was unaccounted for. Upon resurfacing – severely wounded but alive – he left Hydrae Sector where Delta Squadron mostly confines its operations to, and evidently travelled to the edges of the bubble from where he worked as a private mercenary contractor. Records also state he took part in the first military operations against the Thargoids, including Operation Andronicus.
In early 3304 he enlisted in the Terran Colonial Forces and thus entered Alliance service. His record from this point on becomes more complete. Serving as a senior officer in the TCF, he led the 315th Squadron of the TCF fleet – dubbed “Ghostwalkers” – and specialised in operations aimed at securing TCF interests near Eranin. In mid-3304 TCF involved themselves in the controversial Lave War (see report #A5375) together with several other Alliance-aligned factions.
After the war, Blaide focused on anti-xeno operations, and he spent time in the Pleiades fighting the xeno threat during late 3304, before being recalled by TCF brass back to the bubble. In February 3305 Blaide resigned his commission in the TCF. Blaide falls off the Alliance grid until he again made contact with Alliance personnel in November 3305 and joined the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps.
After joining the AEDC, Blaide was involved with the AEDC protectorate organisation - the Dagr Crocodiles - until their dissolution in the wake of the Trade Zone War in May-June 3307.
Currently he commands the Victory-class carrier ADV Dawson's Christian and the adjoined 73rd Combined Arms Carrier Brigade of the Wolf 406 Transport & Co military branch. It is attached to Carrier Group Nemesis of the Grand Fleet, founded when Taranis invaded human space.
Excerpts of Blaide's service in the AEDC:
Operation Salem
Between December 3305 and July 3306, Blaide took part in the Alliance takeover of the Witch Head Nebula - codenamed Operation Salem. During the campaign he earned several citations and the Order of the Grand Master of Salem.
Leesti Incident
Between August and September 3306, Blaide alongside several other AEDC diplomats was part of the wide Alliance coalition defending Leesti from a hostile Federal invasion.
Reclamation War
Between July and October 3306, Blaide commanded the ADV Dawson's Christian as the Dagr Crocodiles reclaimed both their home system Dagr and their previously owned territory of LHS 3117 from hostile Federal forces thus re-establishing the Dagr Free Trade Zone.
New Year's Eve Attack
On December 3306 the Thargoids launched a massive assault on Alliance holdings both in the Coalsack- and Witch Head nebulae. The Dawson's Christian had just arrived in Coalsack on patrol and promptly engaged Thargoid forces. On the 5th of January 3306 the Dawson was withdrawn from the Coalsack front and deployed to the Witch Head where it remained for the remainder of the conflict.
The Trade Zone War
On May 20th 3307, the Dagr Crocodiles came under a furious Federal assault on all fronts in their space. This led to the eventual disbandment of the Dagr Crocodiles as a military organization with the remnants of their forces retreating with the Dawson's Christian back to Alliance space where they were re-organized and integrated into Wolf 406 Transport & Co military branch as the 73rd Combined Arms Carrier Brigade. Blaide maintained the command of the Dawson's Christian and with it, the 73rd.
The Battle of HIP 22460
In July-August 3308, Blaide commanded the Dawson's Christian as a part of a carrier battlegroup sent to fight in HIP 22460 by Wolf 406 Transport & Co. After the disaster, the Dawson evacuated from the Pleiades back into the bubble, albeit with having suffered severe casualties.
