Dartlic Boreal was born in the Eta Cassiopeiae system on the planet Trojan on October 13th, 3267. He grew up a staunch supporter of the Federation and everything that it stood for, due to his parentage. His father, Kellan Boreal, a Federal Navy Lieutenant Commander, instructed him on everything that he needed to know about the evils of the Empire and their unabashed slavery laws. His father also instructed him on the Empire and what it stood for. In his childhood, his father would often recount his stories during his time in the Navy, this could only endear the glory of the Navy into Dartlic's heart.

Dartlic would then come of the age of adulthood and knew that he needed to contribute to the fight against the Empire. He soon enlisted in the Federal Navy and shipped to boot camp, his enlistment into the Navy began like many other's.
