Born a Prince in the Empire, Loki proved to be a formidable pilot at a young age; He joined the Imperial Navy, much to the chagrin of his parents, as soon as he was of age. There he rose through the Imperial ranks distinguishing himself as a cold and efficient killer of The Empire's enemies, a master at engineering, and computer programming. At the age of thirty four he enlisted as a test pilot for experimental ships, most notably prototype FTL Drives.

During a promising test involving slingshot maneuvers around high gravity celestial bodies. An unstable hyperspace window opened and launched his ship deep into the region of space that is now known as the Elysian Sea. After months of study and searching, his project was deemed dangerous and shelved. His record was classified and he was presumed M.I.A.

The Galaxy, however, had not seen the last of the wayward Prince.

Despite all odds, Loki survived the unstable hyperspace jump and the unceremonious crash landing onto an Earth-like world; Loosing only his right eye in the process. Thanking whomever was listening for his extraordinary luck. He salvaged what he could from his wrecked ship. Very little survived aside from his COVAS, a then experimental V.I. of his own making used to assist in the slingshot calculations, which had suffered massive data corruption and begun to mimic something of a personality. It insisted on being called Bast; Something, Loki posited, was well beyond it's original programming. He was grateful for the company as unorthodox as it may have been. With Bast's help he also managed to set his ships distress beacon and for the next twenty years survived as best he could on the alien world, attempting to uncover where he was and what exactly had happened to him.

He had long since resigned himself to his fate of living out the rest of his days on that planet when his distress beacon, something he had long thought had lost power, pinged back a response. By a magnificent stroke of luck or turn of fate, Loki hadn't decided on which, an explorer utilizing the new Frame Shift Drive had stumbled upon his lonely world and, excitedly went to investigate the source of the human signal he had found so far from home. Expecting only the lost remains of some unfortunate commander who had run out of fuel he was just as shocked as Loki was when he came upon Loki's refuge.

The return trip aboard the explorer's Asp was filled with catching up on the twenty years he lost. He was dismayed to find that his family, after his disappearance, had lost everything they had continuing the search for him after the Navy had given up. They were forced to sell themselves into Imperial servitude to their distant cousins, and now ruling family of The Empire, The Duvals. His father died in servitude with his mother following suit just the year before. He could find no record of his siblings and where they may have ended up.

Penniless, Bereft of Family, and his official status within The Empire as Deceased. Loki did the only thing he could; Join the itinerants within The Pilot's Federation.

Since his return to civilized space he has thrown his lot in with whomever could pay him the most. A bounty hunter by trade, but there is no task too dangerous or deed too dirty that he hasn't done or isn't willing to consider except one: Imperial Slave trade. All who offer him the task are never heard from again and it's rumored that the Corvette he flies was stolen by a CMDR who had. When asked, he only smiles, sets his steely cybernetic eye on those who asked and quietly replies "I won it in a card game..."
