The freelancer now known as Black Llama was born in 3263 on an Earth-like planet known to the locals simply as Home, a mostly arid / semi-desertic world with gravity close to one Earth standard. Black Llama grew up on a farming collective where he learned general engineering from his father, the collective's chief engineer. In 3302 he was forced to flee into space, after ending up on the losing side of a civil war which devastated the planet's infrastructure. He worked a few odd jobs as a technician in a couple of starports until he came across a Pilots Federation's recruitment drive. He completed his flight training in the Matet system in May of 3306.
