Commander Collins began their career as a passenger pilot, ferrying the poor (and eventually the rich) around the Bubble. Encouraged a regular passenger, they bought an AspX (the Lac Des Arcs) and began the first of several tentative trips into the black.

They joined the Intergalactic Astronomical Union, shortly before IGAU became the number-one ranked exploring company in the galaxy. Emboldened by this win, Commander Collins completed the Long Arf expedition with the Hull Seals.

Upon their return from the Long Arf, via the centre of the galaxy, they decided to fund their next expedition themself. Purchasing a DeLacy Python (the Spring Creek), they embarked on a new career as a miner.

Soon, they were exploring everything the bubble had to offer, including trading in a Cutter (the Coyote), ferrying passengers in a Dolphin (the Silvertip) and searching (and destroying) alien life in the Krait MkII (the Caroline Road).
