Cmdr. Warren Claggett is a direct descendant of Randall "Randy" Claggett, USMC aviator, NASA astronaut and commander of the Apollo 18 moon mission. Randy Claggett and Lunar Module Pilot Paul Linley were exposed to lethal solar radiation during an EVA. The pair died on the moon when the Lunar Module crashed trying to return to the orbiting Command Module piloted by John Pope.
