Background:
Drayson lost his parent during a flight accident (engine explosion) at a very young age. His mortally wounded parents managed to put the baby boy into an escape pod with their last power and jettison him to space,  shortly before the ship exploded. An emergency craft which arrived at the site shortly after were able to salvage the baby boy unharmed. Many believe this was the day where his affection for space began. Luckily they were able to discover a relative, his uncle (who broke off contact with his brother years ago, because they loved the same woman and she preferred his brother), who reluctantly took him in.
It was a quite difficult youth with an uncle who was constantly busy with drinking, failing and complaining about the harshness of life, but since his uncle works as a courier, it also brought the young H. in close touch with space ships. And so he learned from young age on, how to repair and maintain spaceships. He always dreamed of owning a spaceship one day, exploring the stars and get rich.

Years later, his useless uncle suddenly died from drug abuse, leaving nothing useful behind besides a small flat to live in. And so he joined a local security force in q1 Eridani as a technician and computer specialist. For a pilot, he was still a bit too young at this time and also had no savings to pay for the lessons, but the other pilots trained him in secret to support his dedication and as a repayment for his engagement for their ships. So nobody was surprised as a few years later, he got his license in the first run with remarkable grades. Sadly, his current employer had no open pilot spots then, so he was happy that the next day, a small, local courier company was urgently searching for a replacement pilot (who got grounded for the use of Onionhead). So he took the chance and signed up at once. He worked for several years in that job, happy to be able to fly (even if it was not his own vessel) until he got fired because of a reckless flying manouver during an attempt to surpass a rival in delivering an urgent message first (which got him the Callsign "MADman" ). Even worse, he had to spend all his savings to pay the fine and avoid jail. So the was all back at the bottom. No ship, no job and (so it seemed to him at that time) no future.

But this time Lady Luck was finally shining for him, because in the same week he got fired, a computer revision in a local government office unravelled a misplaced last will from his father, holding the ownership documents of a Cobra MkIII and 1000 Credits in cash. His father had bought it shortly after his birth and had planned to give it to his son, as soon as he was old enough, but the tragic event of his parent's death and a computer malfunction had prevented this. Now finally, he was in posession of his first spaceship. Eager to do everything right this time, he founded his own courier and trade company, joined the Pilots Federation and started to make money and realize his dream.

In the following year, Drayson shows remarkable talents in taking business chances and so he quickly gains more wealth than his uncle or parents ever posessed. But he always followed ethical rules of business, regardless if he got surpassed by other people who were taking shortcuts and made shady deals.

An important turning point in Drayson's life was the tragic death of his good friend Mike Vendell, who got rammed to death by a panic-fuelled Type-9 pilot, while he was trying to save that pilot from a pirate. Mike's ship was already damaged in a fight before and so his ship exploded. Since the emergency pod system had a malfunction as well, he died, leaving behind a wife, a young daughter and a shocked friend.
That event showed him once more, that life is not fair and that you have to take from it by force whatever you can. On that day, something snapped inside him and now he was taking chances where ever they show up, no matter if unethical, illegal or otherwise shady. If they brought in big money, he was first in line. He also travelled to Sagittarius A* only to honor his friend Mike (who planned to do that together years ago). He worked for the Federation and the Empire at the same time, he supported the Alliance and was fighting countless battles for the highest bidder. Some even claim, he earned a good deal of his wealth with Slave trading but this was never proven.

After only a few years, he has made billions of credits, built up a small fleet, explored the galaxy...even own a Fleet Carrier now. Finally his dream had come true...

But there is always a new market to unlock, a next battle to fight and a new mystery to unravel...so Drayson is really enjoying living in times and a galaxy like this!

Personal feats and traits

Despite a certain recklessness, Drayson is preferring negotiations and peaceful solutions if possible. "Dead people are no good customers", he often says, "You can only make money once with them". So Drayson focusses on Trade and Courier tasks, he also loves exploring the galaxy, enjoying the Silence in deep space. He also often transports passengers if there is a good price in it.
For Drayson it is "Money first". He will always prefer a legal opportunity, but he will not discard a good deal of credits only because someone made a law against it (as long as it is worth the risk at least).
If somebody threatens his life, his business relations, his cargo or his passengers, they quickly learn, that he is also a deadly fighter who did not hesitate to kill, especcially if he is piloting his famous Corvette, the Relentless.
Drayson also fought in countless battles for money and causes he deemed appropriate. In Combat, his heavily shielded ships are a deadly threat for any Pilot who underestimate him. But he is no hot-head, he always thinks twice before acting and will not pick a fight he cannot win. "Live to fight another day" he would call it then. If the chooses to fight or to pursuit an opportunity, he will act quick and with great dedication, endurance and tenacity.

Drayson preferres Multi-purpose ships, so one of his favourite ships is a Python named "Fortune Hunter", but he also owns a broad variety of heavily modified ships in all sizes, suited for nearly every task possible. Additionaly, Drayson maintains connections to many minor factions and also have contacts in the Federation and Empire, one source of good deals, many believe. But some who claim to know him better stated, that he likes the Empire more these days, especcially since Hudson took over in the Federation. They also claim that he is responsible for many of Felicia Winters couriers gone missing. But even as he worked a few times for Aisling Duval, this is hardly believable.

Drayson is currently not in a relationship, even if some whisper, he might have something going on with the widow of this late friend Mike, but this are only rumors. He enjoys his independence and also try to shield the few ones he care about from the dark sides and dangers of his life. But it is true that he always watchs over Mike's remaining family members, because he never really had one of his own.

He only rarely consumes alcohol and strictly avoid drugs, so you will most likely never see him transporting Onionhead (at least until now, there was never a price high enough for him to trade some).
He is also known as a computer specialist, a trait the developed in his younger, pre-pilot days. Sometimes they still come in handy but nowadays he focusses on flying his space ships...
