Samantha Nea, also known as Salmonea, is an independent pilot who avoids politics and takes jobs under the motto: "I don’t know you, and you don’t know me." There's no shortage of dirty work. Do you need slaves, organs, narcotics, weapons, or just regular fuel? Samantha sees no moral difference when it comes to trade. She simply doesn't care. Some say she lacks feelings, given her ability to fearlessly involve herself in faction wars or conflicts with the Thargoids. "If death is an infinite void, it can't be worse than space," she says.
People who knew her before her journey to the Formidine Rift claim she wasn’t always like this. She changed after that time. When drunk, she speaks little but occasionally mutters about the unspeakable void and ancient beings of chaos.
For Samantha, the only crime is insincerity. The Blue Mafia from Eurybia once showed interest in recruiting her, but their efforts failed. At the time, she was dedicated to the crew of the Trismegistos. The fleet carrier Trismegistos has been her home since she left Mawson Oasis Station in Phanes at 18, unintentionally getting involved in smuggler gangs. After her bosses were killed in an incident in Tegmen, she claimed the Trismegistos and its remaining crew as her own. As part of her inheritance, she serves the Civitas Dei dictatorial regime.
Following three years of successful special operations contracts, she was promoted to a high officer position. She is one of the fortunate few to have transitioned from a crime syndicate into legitimate government service, where she now holds a respected position. As an experienced Thargoid hunter, she led guerilla forces in the Thargoid conflict around Maelstrom Oya.
Besides that, it could be said she doesn’t do much good. In general, she has a mostly gloomy mood and a harsh way of acting. She's never one to hesitate before pulling the trigger. Especially when the federals are nearby.
