Some are born in the belt, some choose the belt, but they say that once you become a belter, part of you will stay there until you die. Zhang was born in the asteroid ring around Ross 154, and, true to Belt miner tradition, earned his first ship through mining in a vacuum suit with a hand drill.

He claims to have been born sometime in the early 32nd century and to have, briefly known a young Commander John Jameson. Medical imprint revival technology was not as good as it is now, and following his apparent death in the first thargoid war, Commander Teafox presently holds the Pilots Federation record for longest time spent dead before successful revival. Only having memories since the day of his last imprint, he has effectively missed the entirety of history since the first launch of the imperial courier.

Life in the black has changed a lot since he last flew, may things are different. Somehow people get touchy when you remark that you happen to know Aster had rings, and wonder what happened to them.

These new times are confusing, more complicated, the galaxy has gotten noisy.
