Short biography

I was born into a free imperial family in the system of Badia. At the age of 14 I lost my father and I was forced into imperial slavery due to economic difficulties and debts. My older sister disappeared, leaving my mother and me alone to face slavery. From then on I served as a domestic slave for the patron of Badia until I was 17 years old. After gaining my freedom I traveled to Utopian space in search of a better future.

Today, I serve as an Utopian Overseer and Moral Enforcer under Simguru Pranav Antal. I am officially the supervisor of Hip 118251 and vicinity, but my activities for Utopia have a wide scope. I also combine my activity and contributions for the avant-garde of Utopia with the study of Political Sciences at Orion University.

Biography

I was born on August 20, 3288, and I was raised in the bosom of a free imperial family in the Badia system. My parents, Franz Joseph Schwarz and Vipsania Martin, lived humbly. The economic pillar of the family was my father, who worked in a private security force at Ostrander Landing.

At the age of 14, a deadly epidemic swept through our system. My father succumbed to the disease, and as soon as the meager inheritance he left and my mother's savings were exhausted, we had to sell ourselves as imperial slaves to the local patron, to whom we had outstanding debts. I had an older sister, who alternately decided to leave us and we never heard from her again, until recently.

I served as a domestic slave in the patron’s palace. The patron was a wealthy man with a prestigious family, but he was best known for his benevolence. I suppose that he became fond of me, and began to treat me like another of his children, in this way, he provided me with a quality education, and with the aim of leading me towards a more favourable future, he taught me to pilot in an Imperial Eagle of his property. In the middle of 3305, he began to entrust me with courier works, and this made me familiar with the interstellar travels, and at the same time it helped me to gain new contacts and sympathies in the nearby imperial systems.

On one of these trips I met a sympathizer of Princess Aisling, who offered me the possibility of freeing myself from my master by buying my freedom, but I declined the offer, I told him that I felt protected by Badia's patron, I really can't say that I had a hard time during my years in his service. Nonetheless, I became interested in Aisling's antislavery movement and kept in touch. I discovered that the reality of imperial slavery was much more dire in other jobs outside the domestic sphere and that slaves were often abused.

Shortly after I turned 17, my slavery contract with the master of Badia ended, thus regaining my freedom, as I had achieved sufficient financial autonomy to support myself and my mother with the jobs I did on board the Imperial Eagle. At last the debts had been paid off. At the farewell, Badia's patron presented me with his Eagle, which now became my first property, and wished me luck in my travels. For me he became the father I had lost, even being his slave.

With hard work and some successful investments, I managed to increase my wealth progressively, and I bought an Imperial Courier. I sent the Imperial Eagle, which I no longer needed, back with Badia's patron, in gratitude for all that he had done for me. Thereafter, I contacted Aisling's agents again and began to collaborate with them in their propaganda and slave-liberation operations.

However, I never really felt committed to what Aisling's agents were doing and to the princess's cause, so in late 3306 I decided to set out with my mother on a journey into the central systems of Utopia. I was attracted by its social order and its high standards of living and advanced technology.

Currently I have become an Utopian Overseer and Moral enforcer, serving the Simguru Pranav Antal. I am officially the supervisor of Hip 118251 and vicinity, but my activities for Utopia have a wide scope. I also combine my activity and contributions for the avant-garde of Utopia with the study of Political Sciences at Orion University.
