Claudette De La Croix is the youngest child of the De La Croix political dynasty of Achenar, a family with long-time loyalty to the Emperor and Imperial government. Raised with the highest of expectations and education, Claudette was poised to seek a position of power amid the maelstrom of political politics until at an early age, she became devoted to the myth of Raxxla, a long-sought treasure world somewhere in deep space. After family turmoil resulting from this new ambition, De La Croix became the black sheep of the family and has more or less sought her own fortune.

After over a decade in space, Claudette's life was marked by long jaunts into the depths of unknown space in search of the mythical Dark Wheel, believing by making a name for herself she'd fall under their attention. Noted achievements during this era include several planetary discoveries as well as visiting Saggitarius A* and Beagle Point.

All was not well, however. Eschewing the life of politics for her dreams, Claudette found herself disavowed from her biological family and removed from her father's will in his passing in 3301. Embittered, she married a long time paramour in Imperial minor celebrity Delana Brooks, remaining married to her until March of 3307. Following her divorce, De La Croix has been listless, searching for a new path in her life, noting growing disillusionment with the myth she'd sought her adult life.
