A clone created by a branch of the Imperial Military to work on classified ship tech, Ornot had no parents and knew no life beyond handling an arc cutter. When the military group lost its patronage the research and development was bought up by Gutamaya, and Ornot, thought by then to be a normal Imperial Slave, wound up being released and made a citizen. His eyes - ruined by years of welding - were replaced by the Universal Liberty charity, and he was then surprised with a mysterious bequest that led to his membership of the Pilots' Federation.
Ornot lacks any sort of a moral compass, but is a brutal pragmatist who will only engage in activity that will directly and immediately benefit himself.
