Blake Cunningham was born into slavery, not Imperial Slavery but regular one. How or why his parents ended up being slaves he has speculated many nights but the most likely conclusion he found was smuggling or piracy. Life as a slave wasn't easy and one by no means got the same treatments as Imperial Slaves. Food was handed out sparsely but lashings as well as beatings plentiful. Being rather skinny and quick with his wit didn't make him popular with his owners
Blake completet physical labour slower then the rest of the slaves but was quick to make friends and scheme his way to the next meal. He even went as far as to mock his owners or the Empire and it's antiquated ways when he was sure no-one of standing was listening. In the end it got him a knife to the throat, not even from his owners or an Imperial Citizen but a fellow slave who saw right in the act of slavery and the Imperial Family. Medical treatment isn't handed out to run of the mill slaves so he had to treat his wound himself.
He bandaged up with rags he stole from the very man that stabbed him and treated the festering wound with maggots from the trash, to clean the wound of puss. Several weeks later his assailant was found with broken legs and a snapped neck dead in his house. The case was never solved, after all what's a slaves life worth?

At the age of 17 he managed to stow away on a Type-9 bound for Eurybia, leaving his place of birth, Gottlob Frege Point, for good. Here Blakes quick wit did him a lot more good then it did in Ehlanda. He was quick to make connections to the Eurybia Blue Mafia to secure his next meal and a roof over his head. As time went by Blake worked his way up the food chain slowly from small time drug dealer to narcotics smuggler from bordering systems to at one point even a Doctor's assistant at Awyra Flirble, treating wounded pilots. But Blake's goal was beyond being a criminal, forever bound to the mafia only to be sold out one day back into slavery. Every Credit he could save he did, some days foregoing food only to save some more.
In 3303 he had finally saved enough to rent a shuttle towards Sol, the home of humanity.

In Sol he quickly made a name for himself as an informant for the Federal Security Service. Blake still had connections in the Eurybia Blue Mafia after all and with the information he got from them helped the security forces stage one of the biggest drug bust of 3304 in Epsilon Indi with a whopping 1624 tonnes of narcotics.
With this bust he officially entered the Federal Security Service and could have comfily spent the rest of his days chasing low level bounties or small time smugglers like he once was but the attention from his drug bust fast tracked his career away from space into an office. Here he soon had to learn the bitter truth of the Federation, it was festering with corruption and bribery.
Disgusted with the corpotocracy that ran rampant in the Federation Blake left the force in 3305 just two years after arriving in Federal space.

Originally he wanted to head for Alliance space next but decided to hire on a carrier in a spur of the moment decision. Blake flew with it for half a year, as a mechanic, like his contract stated.
Deciding to leave his old life behind Blake changed his surname to 'Cunningham' and with his savings entered the Pilots Federation. In 3306 he finished his training and set out towards an uncertain future.

Now flying under the Commander alias 'Trex-LN', after an old friend and the initials of his parents, he returned to Eurybia once more to deforge old bonds and make some Credits for a new ship Cunningham took part of the Low Temperature Diamond rush in the summer of '06 and settled for an old Pyrhon, the 'Peqoud'.

After having made a name, and a fortune, for himself as a skilled miner and restless explorer Blake was getting more and more fed up with the useless conflicts and unchecked greed plaguing the core systems, so he set out towards the black for an expedition spanning several months.

Returning in 3307 to the Bubbel Cunningham found humanity more divided than ever. With the Attacks of the 9 Martyrs and galactic bickering worse then when he left Blake isn't to sure if he shouldn't have left civilised space for good.

-

Blake Cunningham has been described by many as sly and opportunistic with a sharp tongue and an even sharper mind. What he lacks in physical ability he makes more then up in mental prowess. He's always been looking for new opportunities to make a quick buck and didn't shy away from stabbing his former allies in the back if he deems it necessary to profit in the long run.
Always a sly remark on his lips paired with a cheeky grin Blake was the definition of what most would call a trickster.
Following his disillusion with the Federation and change in surname a lot of the old Blake got lost somewhere in between the rampant corruption and the pointless squabbles in the bubble.
Today Cunningham is a reserved and disgruntled man. Where there used to be quick quips or sly remarks there's empty stares and heavy silence today.

Yet Blake Cunningham is still an avid supporter of democracy and galactic cooperation. This might seem rather uncharacteristic considering his criminal past but his childhood as a slave leave him with an intense disgust for slavery and the human rights violations in the Empire. His history with the Federation and its rampant corruption, where profit is worth more then a human life, made him hate corporations with a burning passion that is seldomly shown but burns deep within him.
Despite all this he uses force when necessary to further his own goals and doesn't shy away from smuggling, piracy or even murder which leaves him wondering more often then not if he's a hypocrite for committing all those acts that made him flee the Bubble in the first place.
