After successfully acquiring his pilot's license and the standard loaner DeLacy Sidewinder, Daniel began the long grind running courier and mining jobs to help support his parents. Eventually he saved enough credits to purchase his own ship, a 13-year-old Zorgon Peterson Adder. Now with a larger ship, he was able to take on larger jobs that quickly got him additional ships. With time, he and his family finally had the means to find a new life outside of the Empire, a power they had grown to detest.
Daniel's parents decided to settle down in the Gebel system and, having acquired their own pilot's licenses, decided to start their own cargo business using a Lakon Type-7 transporter and a DeLacy Viper III security ship that Daniel had gifted them. With transport work plentiful in the booming agricultural system, his parents had no issue finding jobs to expand their business. With his parent's future secure, Daniel bid them farewell as he began exploring systems following the famous "Road-to-Riches" journey. Over the next few years, Daniel acquired additional ships, each configured for unique jobs. Though not a fan of either the Empire or the Federation, Daniel still did a few tours with their respective navies to ensure that no ship or system was locked away from him by a permit or rank.
During the Galactic Summit of 3307, Daniel met a group of independent commanders providing freelance security work in the Sirius system. Having formed an alliance, the group eventually formed the Sirius Rangers squadron with the goal of exploring the galaxy as well as assisting other commanders in their travels, using the squadron leader's fleet carrier - Victory-Class Carrier (VCC) Heart of The Tempest - as their base of operation.
By April 3307, Daniel had accumulated enough credits to purchase his own fleet carrier to supplement The Tempest. The vessel - Drake-Class Carrier (DCC) Olympic - was used to centralize the storage of all Daniel's ships that by this point were scattered across several systems as well as serve as the auxiliary base for the squadron. Having achieved his dream of owning a fleet of ships, Daniel briefly returned to Gebel to celebrate with his family before once again setting off for the stars.
