A latecomer to piloting his own ship, Ian P grew up on a family owned large freighter, hauling bulk stores for corporations. When pirates attacked the ship, taking the family to Imperial space as slaves, his mother shoved him out of an airlock in an escape pod, from which he was picked up by responding Local Defence Force ships.

Bizarrely, he managed to end up flying on behalf of Princess Aisling Duval, using it as an opportunity to search for his family and not finding them. He did manage to end up with his own Sidewinder though...
