Wayne Oldfield grew up on a farm with his family in a small, backwater agricultural colony. Discovering a technical aptitude at an early age, he worked steadily as a mechanic and computer repair tech, often scavenging and repurposing parts from old, dead machines to keep others functioning. After an outbreak of disease killed much of the colony's livestock, Wayne obtained his pilot's license and set off to make a life beyond the colony. There, he discovered a love of exploration and a particular fascination for exploring wrecks and other lost or abandoned places, looking for usable salvage and long forgotten stories.
