The dirty and cramped station was far from the best conditions for a young child to grow up in. As he grew, Jack began to resent the portion of Human society he found himself born into. The station's concourse was always full to the brim with criminals and scoundrels of the worst possible type, and in-station homicides were a regular occurrence. It was this upbringing that would determine the Path of the Iron Snail.
At 16 years of age, he stowed aboard a beluga bound for Imperial space. He had expected his trip to lead him straight to Achenar, but instead it lead to Carthage's "Cook Depot" (Coincidentally named after Explorer and discoverer of Australia, James Cook, whose boat was once built by the Fishburn family 1500 years prior). Upon his Arrival, Jack's stowing away in the Beluga's Cargo hold was discovered and he was thrown into the nearest prison megaship. Jack was incredibly remorseful for his actions, having wanted to leave for imperial space to help STOP the criminal scum of the Bubble. He served two months in there, during which time he came to know the local Lavigny's Legion soldiers quite well.
Upon his release he attended training for the L.L. Academy there, and after many years of combat and flight training, he eventually got a ship of his own, A courier he adorned in Black and White and named "Magpie". This ship was the first of many, and as the years in defense of imperial law went on he eventually earned his powerful Cutter the LLV Conatus.
His combat style tended to result in him fighting slowly but unrelentingly, wearing his enemies down by attrition. It was this that lead to his nickname of "The Iron Snail."
Slow and steady, but utterly unstoppable.
