Born to a single mother, Lillian Shiva Day, whom spent her time traveling with a band of merchants and craftsman or women, across the known bubble of systems.
He was dragged along for his mothers journeys, and once a rotation some time with his grandparents back planet side.
This life of his mothers never sat well with the other family members, any of them, and they repeatedly tried to force the decision to leave him behind. To be raised within proper imperial culture and status.
Growing up he quite learned to enjoy the benefits of his time spent there, amongst the rest of his family. This helped to nurture his learned and natural abilities for leadership, focus, and drive.
It also provided him the time and tools, as well as a teacher, his grandfather. His grandfather was the supervisor of new station construction for many imperial docks and one or two notable stations. That lead to his adept ability to disassemble and reassemble near anything he could touch. It far exceeded that of his grandfathers abilities, and contributed to losing a few bets, as well as credits along the way to Tobias. But they never the less built things and continued to learn from each other whenever possible, such as the love found from shooting pistols and rifles together in their spare time.
He often spent time with his grandmother who sold Gutamaya vessels for her career. Having worked up to noteworthy imperial status and owning her own imperial clipper, she would take him along on business trips and teach him how to sell vessels to all likes with enough status "and credits" to purchase them. This as well as his time spent in markets across many sectors with his mother, lead to his keen ability for trade in all manners, be it legal or not.
At the age of 4 his mother met a man, Klith Shrigga Brooks, KB for short through her circle of good friends. He was the father of one of their children, them having split apart, he was looking for a room to rent aboard a ship. Over the years this proved fruitful and the man went from dating his mother, to accepting the boy as his son, when Tobias asked him if he would one day. The man taught Tobias martial arts and hand to hand weapons until he was fourteen, and they where inseparable.
Over the years KB was locked away numerous times for sale and use of narcotics, and multiple assaults on imperial security officers on different occasions. In the end, when Tobias was 18 he was reunited with his father, but KB's mental state had deteriorated. The man Tobias once knew was never again to resurface, after the may years of hidden narcotic abuse and a terrible secret lifestyle, this man had changed. The final time one another was seen together that year, would be the last time they stood there and both would walk away alive. Tobias in tears, being taunted by his father to draw his pistol, while the mans was leveled at his own head, refused. This drove KB mad, he swore and threw things across the ground, shoved Tobias backward and repeatedly proclaimed he would kill him if he did not.
KB was last seen fleeing in tears and swearing a pledge to kill Tobias if ever their paths crossed again.
In the end, outside his family who loved him, the Imperial culture didn't suit him, and he knew it. He felt himself longing for adventure, strange markets, and food you don't find anywhere else but that hole in some backwater thargoid cursed sector.
So Tobias packed a single bag containing his blades and pistol, loaded them into his sidewinder SilverStar and headed to gather raw materials to earn enough credits to purchase a larger, more functional trade vessel.
Last Tobias was seen he had been headed to the Witch Head Nebula when he wasn't heard from again, until 17 years later on the first day of 3307. He was hardly the young adventurous commander he once resembled, now shrouded in mystery and a foreboding presence, claiming to be of "The Eldritch Eye" and offering no explanations to anyone of what that entails.
