curi frost grew up within the empire, being born into a very middle class family, not too high, not too low. But as she hit the milestone of becoming a adult, the system she was within hit a rather tumultuous path. This caused her family to start to loose a lot of money due to the price of food spiking up high and needing to eat. This depression was only further exacerbated by a disease that hit the settlement that she lived in. Both her parents were unlucky enough to catch said disease, meaning that curi was now forced to take care of her parents, while trying to scrounge up enough money to afford food and whatever medicine she could afford. Soon tragedy struck the frost family as her parents lives were taken by the illness, which ment that curi inhereted her parents wealth, and debt.

So, curi ended up without her parents, but with all their debt and the debt collectors hounding after her. So, after a few days of being without parents and in a massive amount of debt, the debt collectors came knocking. Now, the debt collector gave poor curi had options for what to do now. She could either start working, and then be working for years and years to finally pay it off. Or she could willingly enter indentured servitude, also known as slavery. She would be working for roughly 4 years as a servant for one lords nearby. So, a bit hessitantly, curi chose what she thought was the better option.

Curi was given a couple of days to gather her personal effects, and various other items of value she had within her house. After roughly a day or so, a imperial transport ship came by to pick her up to bring her to her new home. The ship shook a bit as it took off, burning away from her colony and the planet she had grown up uppon. It was at this moment it hit her, what she was gonna have to do for the next three years. Seeing her planet slowly leaving her view, her entire home and life being taken away so quickly and suddenly. Immense emotions washed over her, her breathing quickening as she started to break down crying in her little compartment

A couple hours had passed by, curi just relaxing against one of the walls within her little, cramped compartment. The ship shook quite a bit, the room flooding with red light as warning noises blaired out. The ship was being hit and attacked by pirates, and they were demanding every slave within the ship. Ofcourse curi didnt know this, just that the ship was shacking quite a bit, before she felt a lot more shacking. It was quiet, eerily quiet before curi felt her compartment shacking heavily, getting picked up by the pirates before they fled, not wanting to be here when the imperial security arrived

So, curi ended up in a backwater system, her original plans being tossed out the window as she now no longer had any real rights, and were at the mercy of her captors. The door to her compartment was forced open and curi was forced out, her room ransacked for anything valuable while she was forced into the base, down into the base and a underground chaimber. The room was dark and cramped, bunk beds lining the rooms walls and what must be hundreds of people being down here. And so a new chapter of her life began, one of long hours of hard work, mining away at hard rock.

It had been around 3 years by now, day in and day out just banging away at the walls of the barely lit mines. it had been a long, painful journey but today, today would be difrent. It had been a couple months of planning, stealing and preperation. Today was the day, today is the day they were going to fight, this had cost her a eye and so much of her life, this wasto get their freedom, to break their shackles and escape this baren earth...

"So, they got you too huh?" one of the older, rougher looking slave said. "huh? w-what do you mean?" curi spoke gently, still a bit shacken at these events.
"Let me guess, hit financial trouble, debt collectors came by and gave you a offer, you choose one of them and now your here" the old man said, biting into the hard, bland food they were given. "Y-yeah, h-how did you know?" curi respponded, moving closer towards the man. "happened with most of us, its how they getcha" the man said, looking a bit down and sighing. "fuckin' empire"

... adrenaline was flowing trough her veins, holding that door shut while feeling the entire spaceship started to rumble, the engines firing up. curi was joined by 3 others just desperately holding that door shut. Soon the ship pulled up hard, the gravity shifting as the ship boosted away from the planet, burning away as hard as it could from the planet. What followed was a very tense couple of days. They were just trying to get back to secure space, just trying to reach a place with safety, trying to get their freedom fully!
