I was basically born into the Federal Navy; it was sort of a "family tradition". Both parents were officers assigned to Federal station Li Qing Jao, so I spent most of my childhood learning about space, science, ships, survival and leadership tactics and everything they could teach me about piloting. As soon as I was old enough, I was shipped off to the Naval Academy.

I'm an independent explorer/exobiologist nowadays but I occasionally find work as a mercenary when I'm in the bubble, between expeditions. Traveling out into the black for scientific research is expensive and not always profitable, so the merc work keeps my ship repaired and stocked up when my expeditions fail to pay for themselves.
