30th-generation native Martian - A True Son Of Mars™ - whose ancestors were among the first settlers in the Mariner Valley to begin terraforming efforts on Mars, circa 2070s-2080s. Prior to Humanity's evolution into a space-faring species, his Earthly ancestors can be traced to the ancient seafaring Scandinavian people of Iceland and Norway known as "vikings."

He signed on with the Pilot's Federation in his late twenties, taking on whatever jobs he could find that would allow him to venture further into the Black. One day, years later, while working a delivery assignment in Rhea, a holo-ad grabbed his attention outside Carter Port, calling for a need for pilots to enlist with the Federal Navy Reserves to "defend against the advancing Thargoid threat" and "help dismantle the Empire's slave trade".

He quickly learned that, apparently, defending the Federation from external threats involves more hauling cargo than blowing the enemy to kingdom-come.
