I don’t know much about my origins, I don’t even know my real name. I have memories, as a kid, of myself living in a colony in the California nebula. When I was young I lived for some years in the “Darwin Research Facility” asteroid base, although I was told my family was originally from Sol, probably planet Earth or Li Qing Jao station.
I have no memories of my parents either. I’ve been told they were small traders, making a living in trading goods between the Bubble and the southern areas of the Galaxy. I’m not sure why they left me there, I believe something happened during a trip, either a pirate encounter or maybe those angry aliens…
I lived and studied in California, lucky enough to go up to technical university degree. After that, I had the feeling I did and saw everything of that Nebula, and I wanted to experience more. I enrolled as a civilian in the Pilot’s Federation, as I had always had the desire to fly a spaceship.
The Federation moved me to Dromi, right back into the Bubble, where I completed my training and got my license. That was around 15 years ago.
After that… Well, I moved out and worked as an independent freelancer for some small factions in the inhabited area of the Galaxy.
I always wanted to have the illusion of being “free”, so I never pledged to any of these rich people that pretend to rule every corner of the Bubble. I guess having spent so many years in a nebula left a mark on my character.
However, I wanted to give my support to people in needs, so I worked from time to time with factions that were affiliated with superpowers. That is how I got my ranks with the Federation and the Empire, after all.
But my main objective was always to make money. And money came in the end, thanks to some tips and good investments in mining that I was lucky to make.
Nowadays, I’m just looking to settle down somewhere. In my heart (and not like my younger cousin), I’ve never been an explorer so I guess my interest will always be to live in populated space. I’m also not much fond of crowded places, so I might have a look around for a new home somewhere right at the edge of the Bubble. Even better if it’s going to be in the direction of the California Nebula, in case of nostalgia.
