Born in 3259 in the Chicago Arcology in the North American Free Trade Zone on Earth, he was contracted to the Federal Navy in 3273 and served as a Midshipman on a Battle Cruiser.

Disenchanted with enforcing trade deals at gun point, he resigned from the Federal Navy and became a freelance trader in a mysteriously acquired Cobra Mk. III in 3275. In 3277 he began operating as a freelance freedom fighter for various Cooperatives and Democracies and promptly had his ship destroyed by the Imperial Navy.

He continued freedom fighting, as infantry, until declared an outlaw by the Federation and Empire in 3281. Captured the following year by the Federation, he spent part of 3282 and 3283 in a Venus Aerostat Detention Center, until transported to the New England Commercial Commonwealth on Earth, where he was a wage slave for the next five years.

In 3289 he left Earth and joined the Alliance Volunteer Legion, and served as infantry in numerous wars of liberation. He took part in a successful guerrilla campaign after being cut off behind enemy lines with his unit for several months in 3294, and was recruited into an Alliance Special Forces Group after returning to friendly lines. After spending 3296 and 3297 behind enemy lines with local forces, he resigned from the Alliance Special Forces.

In 3298 he joined the Alliance Search & Rescue Service as a Security Officer and took part in disaster and refugee relief missions for the next ten years.

In 3308 he acquired a Sidewinder Mk. I and returned to The Black.
