I'm a strong supporter of #RankedChoiceVoting and #ProportionalRepresentation, viewing them as vital reforms to halt the two-party doom loop of polarization and toxicity in the US. As such, I serve on the boards of directors of Californians for Electoral Reform and ProRep Coalition, and I also ran the Twitter account for CalRCV for the first two years after its launch in 2021 before moving to take over ProRep Coalition's Twitter. I also am part of the volunteer social media leadership team at RepresentUs.

I'm a financial advisor, my area of expertise is economics (I used to be a lecturer) and statistics (I was a subject matter expert for both econ and stats for a major publisher). I'm a UC Berkeley alum (Go Bears!), and I love reading comparative politics research. I met my wife during volunteer cleanup after Burning Man. She is a Stanfurd alum, her area of expertise is music composition (she used to be a classical singer), and she loves reading musicology research. We are the parents of two boys, both of whom are hugely into Minecraft. I and the older son are autistic; my wife and the younger son are neurotypical.

I'm also a guitarist, pianist, and singer who loves SPAAAAAAACE (obviously)! When not at DFMF, I hang out with Newton's Gambit (I fly almost entirely with Flight Assist off).
