As a child I always looked to the stars, and dreamed of making new discoveries. What might it be that was out there? Perhaps it's the fact I've always been a loner that drew me to the deep black, but every day I would dream. I'd find ways when I was young to stay off from school so I could play on my starship simulator, something I also found time to do, bunking off important work when that simulator was updated some thirty years later.

As soon as I could afford it I began investing in exploration ships. Sure, I could make money trading, the routes around Toxandji where I'm from helped me make the bulk of my money. Times were hard though back then. This was at a time when the goods and materials we needed to engineer and equip our ships weren't anywhere near as abundant as they are today, honestly kids today have it really easy but still all you'll hear is them complain.

I've had some fun along the way too. I took a load of Commanders on one of the first carrier trips to Colonia, along with all their ships and modules. It's a way to do people a good turn, but they all donated some tritium to help. That was an interesting trip. On board I had both Commander Saberius, the head of the famed Mobius group of commanders, but also a notorious ganker. I can't remember his name now, but he seemed okay, maybe we've all misjudged these people?

I've got to get away though, anything to avoid constant Thargoid attacks, the Caustic Cauliflowers as that news guy Buur calls them. I've been hyperdicted a few times, and damn that's a scary thing to happen. Magellan's Star is my favourite place in the galaxy to get away to, though I've been to all four cardinal points now. The systems around the Tenebrae region are so full of amazing discoveries and stellar phenomena. This is where I decided I wanted to be. Maybe it's the isolation, almost 45,000 ly from the bubble. Maybe it's just that the place is so damn hard and challenging to get to, the void between spiral arms is particularly wide here. Maybe it's the profit, as hot damn it's a profitable part of the galaxy if you're prepared to spend your life staring at mould.

That profit's going to be put to good use though. I know the colonies around Colonia where my half-brother Mark Wells hangs out, sprung up by accident. He seems to like it out there, though he does complain there's nothing to do on the weekends. What I'm gonna do, I'm gonna do deliberately. Magellan's Colony, or Protectorate, I haven't decided yet but what the hell's in a name anyway. Wells is on board to help, along with the new guy, hilariously calling himself Jameson's Ghost (I guess he's just some young buck with an ego to prove). Some other Commanders have also decided to come on-board with the project.

Hig Hurtenflurst spent months out there with me, exploring, searching for good base locations, he's a good guy though a little slow at renovating his carrier the whole time. Commanders DaveBlom and CopperBlom, brothers from god knows where, they never said, have also jumped on board and brought some of their friends with them too. I'll have to watch out for those though, the Blom brothers are a little too fond of settlement raids for my liking.

I'm hoping I'll be able to set up a tritium mine. Not only as a way to help fellow Commanders fuel their carriers, but perhaps also to bring more of them out to see this amazing part of the galaxy, and maybe even settle here too. God knows if we're gonna be successful we'll need labour. Travers Independent Trading I'll call that settlement. It'll be nice to have a home again too. Damn I miss having a sky to look up at. I've been living on my carrier for too many years now, and hell the crew are lazy. Sometimes I feel like I have to do everything myself. Maybe it'll all work, maybe it won't. I guess if you never hear from me again it'll have worked... unless there's a Blom brother raiding the place of course.
