CMDR RAIKKONEN

As a young child Kannon Raikkonen was raised and educated at Bitterwood, under the the sponsorship of Zemina Torval. He went on to become successful in the Pilot's Federation and served a brief stint in the Imperial Navy where he soon ranked up in leadership, gaining many subtle skills in diplomacy along the way.

At the age of 22 he was commissioned to protect mining vessels in the Mastopolos Mining organization. In doing so he garnered more favour with the politically elite, wealthy and once again Zemina Torval herself.

Merging with the Imperial elite, Raikkonen noticed that the super wealthy were flaunting high credit travel requests, private escorts and bids for outlandish space tourism. It was time to be in charge of his own destiny. He invested in an Imperial Cutter - a chrome beauty - known as the INV Empress! Raikkonen's Imperial background, stunning ship and own impossibly high standards meant that he and the INV Empress quickly became the go to space yacht. With it's luxurious design, unparalleled comfort and military defense capabilities - VIP's glided across the galaxy in first class.

The biggest event of his life so far was when an unprecedented event happened in 3304 - a Thargoid Invasion. Upon hearing the news the INV Empress embarked on a daring rescue mission to save survivors from the blazing ruins inside the station. It took skill and mastery to pilot the large chrome Imperial Cutter through the burning debris and to save hundreds of lives over the course of the week.

In January 3305, as part of the Distant Worlds Two Expedition, CMDR Raikkonen took 150 selected rares from the 'bubble' along on the journey. The INV Empress was dutifully escorted by the Iridium Wing on many occasions as the payload attracted numerous pirates along the route. Whilst in the Omega Sector, Raikkonen felt his skills were required once again for the construction of a new Orbis starport to built in the heart of galaxy - Explorer's Anchorage. His ship, now pristine, made from the repairs in the Omega Mining Corporation asteroid base, was dispatched for an entire week to source materials for the build. He was amazed at seeing this marvel and feat of engineering in space as the Orbis starport was assembled before his eyes over the following weeks. Other commanders answered the call until there were thousands of ships mining and transferring minerals to the faction's refineries.

At the end of this mission, Raikkonen made a recorded log back to the bubble stating he intended to go on with the rest of the expedition. He had managed to get the 150 rares some 5,000+ LY out from the bubble and now rejuvenated from supporting another worthy cause - the construction of the furthermost starport from inhabited space, Explorer's Anchorage! He saw no option but to pursue it to the end.  

Raikkonen is aligned firmly with the Empire, as many of his most loyal patrons are influential and powerful figures within the Imperial Senate. So his Fleet will often carry out highly prestigious Imperial orders; including exploration, private transport and security detail. However, he also has an extensive network of contacts in the black market trades - as would any experienced Commander.
