One Lukus Criitu was born aboard the Ridley Scott station in the Zaonce system, and grew up on the planet Industry. He was recruited to the ranks of the Zaonce Navy straight out of pilot school, in part due to the influence of his high-ranking father, Rear Admiral Seth Criitu.

In the year 3290, the Tionisla Chronicle received an encrypted transmission exposing a corruption scheme in the Zaonce Navy, with evidence of Rear Admiral Criitu and future president Gibson Kincaid as central figures in the conspiracy. Details in the report suggested the whistleblower was close to the Rear Admiral. The matter was quickly buried by the Zaonce Navy, with Rear Admiral Criitu retiring with honors shortly thereafter. Around this time, then-Lieutenant Lukus Criitu disappeared in his officially issued Viper Mk IV, the wreckage of which was found eight months later on Riedquat 4; he was subsequently declared missing and presumed dead.

In 3303, an independent commander matching Lukus Criitu's description was spotted in the Artemis system by a retired Captain of the Zaonce Navy; her report would be the last known transmission from her. In the year that followed, several more Zaonce Alliance Assembly members and hired freelancers would disappear while seeking Criitu. Subsequently, the Zaonce Navy disavowed all knowledge of him, with Kincaid stating that some delusional pilot, bearing a similarity to Rear Admiral Criitu's missing son, had merely adopted the name to feign importance.

On the surface, Lukus Criitu appears to be an unremarkable commander, and perhaps the impersonator he is suspected of being. However, those familiar with his work will confirm that his official ranks in the Pilots Federation do not seem to reflect his actual experience. He only seems to be interested in trade and exobiology, and yet never seems to be quite where anyone expects him. His reputation for evasion makes it hard to be sure of anything.
