Cmdr Hairy Polo can cast his roots back to a large, well respected and well connected crime family in Archon Deaine space, specifically in the Harma system in the Pegasi sector. Born into a world of crime and deception, it wasn't long before Polo turned to piracy and the smuggling of slaves, narcotics, weapons and other contraband, to earn a living. This has since expanded to include sabotage, extortion, kidnapping and assassinations.

Polo lurks within the galactic criminal underworld as a member of the Dark Marauders, based on his fleet carrier, New Providence, now his base of operations and home. New Providence is widely known as a safehaven for galactic criminals to meet, rest, lay low and sell their ill gotten gains. When not raiding more populated space, Polo can usually be found in a dark corner of the local smoke filled bar on New Providence, drinking Harma Silver Sea Rum, discussing illegal and questionable deals with other passing galactic criminals and outlaws.
