On Halloween 3310, Aegis received the following message from a beacon that had somehow been deployed inside the security perimeter of their planetary headquarters.
You used me, you lied to me, you left me for dead, you reprogrammed my ship and left me for dead. You used me to deploy your bioweapon against the Thargoids. You knew you were sending me into a trap, telling me it would only disable their hyperdrives. You used me and left me where you thought I'd never be found. But I was found wasn't I, or at least my ship was found. They never found a body.
Now I am changed, now I am better, now I am immortal. You changed me. The Thargoids changed me. The war changed me. I am stronger now, faster, smarter. You will not use me again, you will never use anybody again. I will see to it... personally.
You don't know me, you don't know what I'm really capable of. You don't know who I am, but I know you. I know who you are INRA. I am coming for you. I will find out who is behind your corrupt and vile organisation, and I will come for you, I will come for your friends, I will come for your colleagues, I will come for your families, I will come for your children. You are not safe, nobody will be safe. I'm not in a rush, but you'd better watch your back. You will not see me, you will not hear me, but you will feel my presence. I will come and go as if I were never there. It might be in the future... it might be tomorrow.
I will find you, and you will die!
Some people have speculated that Jameson's Ghost is one of John Jameson's descendants, out for blood for a much beloved member of their family, now driven partially or almost completely insane by the desire for revenge.
Other people say Jameson's Ghost is a chancer, an anarchist, a renegade using the good name of Commander John Jameson to spread fear and terror in the galaxy, picking INRA as their target only because it is convenient for the narrative, or perhaps because they are a member or former member of the League of Reparation, a secretive terrorist organisation dedicated to avenging the victims of INRA by assassinating the descendants of INRA personnel.
There are a few true believers, and they show genuine fear when the name Jameson's Ghost is mentioned. Should they be genuinely fearful, or are they imagining something created by their own superstitions and delusions.
The only thing any of us know for certain is that the true identity of Jameson's Ghost will remain a mystery until he or she is captured, but that seems unlikely as this ghost moves only in the shadows.

[Galnet News Update - November 15th 3310]
Veteran Galnet reporter [REDACTED] has been investigating the true identity of Jameson's Ghost. Most avenues led nowhere, but three days ago an anonymous source came forward claiming to be a member of the League of Reparation. This source, who offered no proof and would not give their name, told Galnet that Jameson's Ghost had formerly been a member of the banned terrorist organisation, but had recently been expelled for refusing to obey the group's ruling council, and for undertaking unsanctioned operations including the bombing of a hospital rescue ship near Thargoid-controlled space, in which thirty people died.
The source told our reporter that Jameson's Ghost should be considered extremely dangerous, unstable, and a threat to everybody. This sombre warning could not be evidenced and was not corroborated by any other source of information we could find. Galnet contacted security officials within the Federation, Empire, and the Alliance but did not receive comment other than for each to say they were aware of the reports from Aegis, and were taking the matter seriously.
