Born on Capitol in the Achenar System, Stanford "Stan" Harrison Teverell III was brought up on Imperial ideations of honor, integrity, and cleverness. His father was a low-ranking member of the Imperial Senate and a staunchly outspoken proponent of emancipation. However, due to political conniving and foul play, Stanford Jr., his wife Martha, and his only son were banished from Achenar in 3277 and forced to survive in the Bubble alone and without the convenient resources of the Empire. To this day, the circumstances surrounding his father's banishment from the Empire remains a mystery to Stan, as he was sold into indentured servitude in 3279 for unknown reasons.

The woman he was "sold" to was a talented CMDR in her own right and a close friend of the Teverell family named CMDR Harriet Callahan-Moseley. Although she too shared Imperial blood, she also shared her views on emancipation with the Teverell family, and took young Stan in as her own, treating him as her nephew. He was given a homeschooled education on the ship (Harriet used to be a teacher) and raised him well into his teens. To this day, Stan doesn't know he was technically sold into indentured servitude to the woman he would come to call his aunt.

At the age of 16, Stan flew his ship, an Imperial Eagle, under the watchful eye of his aunt and was talented enough to be considered admittance within the Pilot's Federation flight programs. At 17, he accepted, and spent the next 7 years learning in Founder's World, Shinrarta Dezhra. After he passed his exams, Stan set off to explore the galaxy, eventually becoming a ground mercenary and smuggler for a while under the banner of the Alliance. In 3308, Harriet fell ill in her old age and on the 8th of January 3309, she perished in her frigid villa on planet Home, Reorte; Stan was by her side through it all. She left him several of her personal effects during her travels as a seasoned CMDR: An Earth bobblehead, one of the first bottles of Lavian brandy ever produced, several merits of service to each of the three major galactic superpowers, and a data-journal that he cannot seem to open, for his eyes only. After Harriet's death, Stan was aimless. He did some rare goods trading, some ground combat, even disrupted several mining and manufacturing sites planetside, just for a few credits.

When the Thargoid threat came to Sol, Stan had a change of heart. With zeal, he packed his things from Reorte and traveled to the cradle of humanity. There, he would distinguish himself as not only a competent runner for refugees, but a destroyer of Thargoid hunters. The Federal Navy granted him permanent access to Sol and allowed him to purchase property on the surface of Mars, if he wanted. Even in his countless tasks for the Alliance or the blooded son of the Empire, neither rewarded him any kind of semblance of accomplishment. In the end, it was the Federation that rewarded CMDR Stanford Teverell as befitting his talents and his grit.

Stanford Teverell's favored ship is the Zorgon-Peterson Mandalay. The Stormrunner is his pride and joy, black as midnight, and can ferry people, transport rare goods, and explore the deep space with maneuverability and style.
