Cmdr. Draegard was born on the Earth-like planet Achelous 1. He spent much of his early life in space aboard space stations and vessels in the surrounding systems, though he has retained an affinity for his homeworld, and has rarely left its proximity for very long; considering the orbiting Mendel Hub to be his home station.
With Achelous being a border system near the edge of Federation space, Draegard has spent much of his life traveling in independent systems and as such has little loyalty to any particular superpower or faction. For a number of years, he was associated with Aisling Duval's imperial faction, albeit for ulterior purposes; sharing no regard for the Empire's principles - he tolerated association with Duval due to her abolitionist stance on slavery, for instance.
Draegard has most often been a law-abiding member of the Pilot's Federation, and has never engaged in piracy. He has smuggled illicit goods on occasion, but the bulk of his trade has been in legal commodities. He has at times operated as a miner of precious materials such as void opals and low temperature diamonds, operated a passenger transport service, and has spent considerable time gathering exploration data outside the Bubble. His furthest venture has taken him 15,074 LY from Achelous, and he has a number of first-discovery and mapping credits of dozens of planets.
A large amount of his career has been spent bounty hunting, particularly in the hazardous resource extraction sites of his home system and the surrounding systems.
Draegard's long-term ambitions are to explore further into the galaxy, to locations such as Colonia, Sag. A*, and various far-flung nebulae, as well as to eventually confront the Thargoids.
