I started off my career as a independent commander in late-3302 by being a courier, the pay of which was of course great when compared to the low-wages that ordinary working citizens on Federal Starports and colonies got. I did both data and cargo transport as a courier and I mostly stuck within Federal space and took up work wherever I could get it, drifting from one system to another. After several days I managed to get enough credits to purchase a couple small ships and I began exploring the other careers such as bounty hunting, exploration, mining and mercenary work, the latter of which I found to be a great source of profit by working for let's say freedom fighters who were looking to take down the system's oppressive regime. I worked with the freedom fighters for some time and made millions of credits by trying to help them win the conflict by preforming certain missions that involved sabotage against the regime's military installations. Unfortunately I eventually started to realize that the freedom fighters could not overthrow the regime despite how much support they received so I parted ways with them and resumed doing various types of careers. Just before 3303 I managed after a lot of hard work to purchase a Anaconda class vessel which allowed me to do more better and I also hired my first crew member, Stacey Parrish.
The future is rarely what we expect it to turn out and in early-3303 this was the case for almost everyone when reports of unidentified alien vessels within the Pleiades nebula were interdicting commanders from witch space. I was amongst some of the first few commanders to experience such a encounter or at least those those who managed to survive and report back. Over the course of the year I continued to increase my wealth and purchase additional vessels some of which I used to research the at the time "Unknown Ships" with. Near the end of 3303 we saw the start of a conflict between Humanity and what was only recently confirmed at the time to be the Thargoids. When the conflict broke out I worked together with other independent commanders to combat the Thargoids and later we formed Aegis Wing, a independent Anti-Thargoid wing of commanders who worked indirectly with Aegis to combat the Thargoids and help protect Human lives, but Aegis Wing would only operate until just near the end of the year when widespread anti-Aegis protests and hostile actions took place by both independent commanders and the general public which forced us in Aegis wing to split up and go our separate ways to avoid wrongful persecution. My crewman Stacey Parrish and I continued to research the Thargoids and combat them in an attempt to help humanity find new ways to counter the Thargoid threat but we had little success.
Leading into the year 3304 we saw the conflict escalate with the introduction of the Thargoid scouts and the Thargoids going on the offensive within the bubble, causing widespread collateral damage. Parrish and I founded the Sentinel Initiative Unit later that year, a small independent anti-xeno squadron who's purpose it was to protect human space from the Thargoids and endeavour to learn more about the Thargoids and research them, still to this day our work continues.
