In 3304 Cmdr. Zinnsei took part in a one-ship exploration voyage aboard the Imperial Long Range Exploratory Vessel, Zenith of Quintessence that led him and co-pilot Napoleon to the deepest of the core worlds and to the fringes of colonized space in the area around Colonia. A tragic accident cost him the ship and the lives of most of the crew including Napoleon.

Cmdr. Zinnsei awoke in Colonia Hub to rigorous rehabilitation and mental trauma and after a long respite he and a new crew, including a new second in command, Leonard Bradshaw, took to undergo the last voyage of the Zenith aboard its sister ship, christened Zemt Quinta Essentia in memoriam.
During the voyage back to the core, the crew and in particular Cmdr. Zinnsei experienced many unexplainable phenomena including but not limited to visits from dead crew members.

Back at the core, a eulogy was given in honor of Napoleon and the lost crew, and so the journey came to an end. The ship and crew returned to the Bubble where Cmdr. Zinnsei was hospitalized for months to recover from the ordeal.
It would, however, appear that the man who awoke from the medically induced slumber was not the same as the one who had undertaken the journey.
