I don`t know why I was always attracted by the stars... I`ve had a rather beautiful and protected childhood on a wonderful Planet. My Parents were`nt poor, I`ve had a proper Education and I was well on my way to become an Industrial-Engineer. Most other People i knew then had no intentions to travel among the stars. Don`t get me wrong: We all knew that there was other Worlds out there, and interstellar Travel was no big deal. For those who had the Money and were willing to take the risk. Neither do I know why someone, I never met and never knew, would give me a Starship and some money to get to the stars and travel among them...

But that Day, I did not hesitate one second to get into a Shuttle and start my pilot-training...

And here I am now... Sitting in a giant metal coffin, called "Imperial Cutter" and freezing, because the Ship has got no power anymore. It`s drifting through space, with me inside and followed by something, that looks like a flower of my home-world. But much bigger and better armed and aggressively trying to hunt me down for the final punch to end my very existence. Luckily I`m still a little bit faster than that "flower", officially called "Thargoid". But I`m getting slower because of the strong solar wind in this star system...

"Repair-sequence successful"... That`s what I wanted to hear, what I`ve been waiting for the last minutes. A stubborn grin sneaks into my face as the blue aura around my ship indicates that the shields are back online. One look at the module-terminal shows, I`m back in business again!

I reach out for the vomit-bag-dispenser right in time, as the artificial gravity field kicks in... So less adaption to this in so many years... As I deploy the hardpoints I turn in to the Thargoids trajectory and activate the flight assist. A couple of minutes later, "The green Beast" dies in a wonderful explosion and leaves a caustic cloud. As I charge the frame-shift-drive, i think of my other journeys, that brought me here. Beagle Point and Sagitarius A*, interstellar trade runs with tons of void-opals in my cargo-bay and dozens of pirates in my Neck... theres still so much to do... so much to see...

I mean, if you get bored in a spaceship, you definitely have the wrong attitude to Life....
