Born in an undisclosed town on the Scandinavian Peninsula, Silas Kruge started his career as most novice star pilots do, in a Sidewinder in Federation space. Initially supportive of the Federation he started his own private war against an Empire faction, the Scorpions Order in HIP 35246, and caused them some damage in his lone raidership, an Anaconda named Red Rhonda.

But when the Scorpions order faction split he was invited to join the new faction The Knights of the Empire. Disenchanted by the Federation because of its many internal conflicts and lack of directional leadership, he accepted and joined the Empire.

Since then Silas Kruge was loyal to the Empire and Princess Aisling Duval and he intended to remain so. However, as is often the case in the Galaxy, events have a tendency to overtake personal faiths. Due to a profound lack of support from the Empire in their year-long war with Civitas Dei, the Knights eventually had to change allegiance and turned to the Federation.
