In 3303 Bach was on an expedition to Sagittarius A but only got as far as Colonia. He returned to the bubble after learning of the Thargoid attack on The Oracle, which had recently been relocated to the Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55 (currently known as Delphi). Bach aided in the evacuation efforts of the damaged station but it is rumoured that his family were among the casualties.
Bach was allied with Imperial Forces, namely Aisling Duval, for a time in 3302. However, it is believed that there was a falling out between the Empire and Commander Bach. There is no information for Bach or any word of his activities for the entirety of 3304. In mid-3305 Commander Bach appeared in Federation space piloting an unregistered Imperial Eagle and requesting political asylum. Shortly after his reappearance, several ship transfer transactions were processed, moving a small personal fleet from multiple remote independent systems to LFT 69.
In LFT 69 Bach took contracts with the local controlling faction, Black Sails Sq.69 until he accepted a contract to eliminate specified targets in a neighbouring system. Once in the designated system it was revealed to the Commander that his targets were civilian pilots working for a competing faction. Appalled by the nature of the contract Bach terminated the contract and left the system for Sol, once there he contacted a Federal Navy Recruitment Office. Bach was placed under the command of Admiral Alexander Sepulveda in the 87th Naval Fleet.
Bach stayed enlisted with the 87th Naval Fleet for nine months. In that time he was able to amass a large amount of personal wealth, purchased several ships including a Federal Corvette, and was field promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral. On the 12th of June, 3306, Bach took the majority of his personal wealth and purchased a Darke-Class Carrier. On the 24th of July, 3306, Bach left the 87th Naval Fleet and jumped his carrier, the HMCS ANNA MAGDALENA to the Bach system where we stayed for several months living on the carrier.
On the 26th of December, 3306, Bach registered the squadron Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis with the Pilots Federation. Directly translating to, “Bach works catalogue” a catalogue system of the compositions of Baroque Earth composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. The squadron code was selected as BWV2 to pay homage to the composition by Bach, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, which was a recording placed onto a golden record and launched from ancient Earth aboard the probe, Voyager, the first human made object to leave the Sol system. After the founding of the minor faction Cooperation of Independent Pilots Bach renamed the squadron in April 3307 to Co-op of Independent Pilots to better reflect the ideals of the squadron and to reflect the squadron as an extension of the newly formed minor faction.
In an unusual dramatic flair Commander Bach seems to have had a falling out from both Imperial and Federal forces. Seemingly unwilling to risk a third disappointment with the Alliance, Bach is now championing the way of independent systems. Typically, the realm of lawless anarchists and pirates Bach seems intent on proving that the independent systems do not need the oversight of Federal or Imperial rule to prosper.
