All I have been able to summarize about my early childhood I was born on a transport ship. While my mother was in labor it fell under attack by pirates en-route to LHS 3447. The two security ships assigned were destroyed protecting us, which allowed for our escape. After I was born, while this ship was able to maintain flight it still took heavy damage. Due to critical failures my eyes were damaged due to a chemical fire near my mother and I. We both survived. With my eyes being damaged as they were, my parents opted for cybernetic eye replacement. I had no further complications and perhaps me being an infant at the time and me being so young, aided in that my body adjusted well.

As I grew up and old enough and understood what happened, my hatred for pirates grew. Those two pilots that died protecting us were my hero's but I never found out their names. Their families lost their son, brother, husband. If they or one was a woman, they too lost their daughter, sister, wife. I knew then from that moment on, I wanted to be a pilot. Thanks to my dad being a high ranking officer I was able to log flight sim time under an assumed name. My rating was almost top of the class in flight. That was a big deal at being 14 years old. But no one knew who I was, as my ID was forged. Even though I technically didn't break any laws I violated policy as sim training begins at 16. So I had to wait another two years before I was able to qualify for official training. Once I enrolled, and then graduated top 5 of my class, my life changed forever.

When I received my Pilots Federation License, the look on both my parents face is one I'll never forget. The look of pride, happiness, sense of accomplishment, maybe even a little bit of fear, all at once. For 25+ years all I did was transport cargo, or ferry passengers to tourist locations. The money's good, it keeps me in a pilot's seat yet, it felt more like a job, and I felt like I was missing out on something. I would do a bit of bounty hunting, to my father's joy as he was a combat pilot. I did a little smuggling which my mom would kick my ass if she found out. To this day she tells me, "Son, you're never told old for me to whip that ass if you do something you shouldn't! You'll have to bend over though so I can reach ya!" (as I'm taller) She keeps me straight. Odd jobs here and there, that went on for awhile. Sometimes the smuggling part did in fact question my morality as sometimes the cargo were slaves. After some of the stories I overheard in bars left me feeling empty. Imperial slaves is a bit different as they are working out a way to pay their debt. I've been in debt a few times so I can sympathize in their plight. They do what they can and at least given a chance to contribute and have a decent life after their debt is settled. Other's aren't so lucky.

I was introduced as my father and he were good friends, as they served together back in the day. He wouldn't tell me what they did, and I didn't ask, was General Clemons of the Sovereign Justice Collective. Gen. Clemons was recruiting at the time and he wanted to meet me. I took it that my dad put in a good word as I'm a decent combat pilot and I'm two ranks away from Elite. It didn't take much to persuade me as Phiagre was dealing with an problem with pirates in the system. I signed up without hesitation.. After a few campaigns that successfully drove out the pirates, Gen. Clemons along with the Chancellor Arias, which was a big deal as a leader of a controlling faction wanting to meet me? As I entered a secure room. I thought my past may have caught up with me that would have brought me a court martial. The room was dark, except for displays lighting the room, I saw a door open while all eyes were fixed on me, I saw him. For the 1st time in my life I didn't know what to think. As he walked closer all I could see was armor. And freaking tall! As he continued to walk closer which gave me closer look. When he came to a stop standing in between Gen. Clemons and Chancellor Arias, she broke the silence and said this to me: "Cmdr Skyfyre, allow me to introduce you to Wing Commander Veyder of Ghost Squadron."
Everyone could tell I was nervous as hell. I've never heard much less seen someone in full body armor. Sure I've heard stories, but this was something else entirely.
"Sir!" I said without trying to make an ass of myself. I was in the presence of a Chancellor, a General, and a Wing Commander. I thought it best to just keep my mouth shut.
I nearly jumped out of skin when he spoke. "CMDR. I am inviting you to become a member of Ghost Squadron."
The chancellor took her leave, escorting her was the General. As they departed, he walked by me, stopped, as he was facing me put his hand on my near shoulder and leaned in slightly and said. "Try not to stare." I looked over eye wide as big as dinner plates, and gave me one his (in)famous smirks. Patted me on the shoulder once and walked out.

WC Veyder gave me details on Ghost Squadron, what they do. Their mission. He told me to think about it. Once I read the Overview, the Rules of Engagement, among other things. I contacted him the next day and accepted the invitation.

That was fast approaching five years ago. From a recruit to Chief Of Staff now known as Ghost Legion. It has gone light years beyond revenge against pirates. I am now a part of something bigger than my personal desires. The mission is to help others. Bring justice to the galaxy, to protect those that cannot protect themselves. As I said, Its only been five years. But sometimes it feels like a lifetime as so much has happened. I would be the 1st to admit, in my wild dreams or imagination that I'd be in a place where I am now. Learned from the best, they let me know as a leader when I'm wrong. I would not know anywhere what I know now without Ghost Legion's guidance and support.

A place I call home.
