Zob-Krell is an ancient Altarian name dating from the first colonists upon Altar 4 who arrived before the arrival of the generation ship that took hundreds of years to make the journey finding inhabitants already there whom they referred to as The Krell this being some obscure reference to a twentieth century cinematic entertainment popular among the inhabitants of the generation ship they had designated C-57D.
Xen learnt her flying skills as a child out trading with her Grandfather a some 200 year old veteran of the Thargoid war of the 32nd Century.
I'm told Thargoids are on there way and I am scared of Thargoids I was taught to fly by my Grandfather a veteran of the old Thargoid war his tails of how lucky he had to be to get away and that every laser shot had to count and those old military lasers really could pack one hell of a punch and few Commanders ever survived an encounter with multiple Thargoid ships in Witchspace and many of those who did have been silenced.
