Born on Saturday, 13 July, 3269, in what would historically be Westport, County Mayo, Connacht Province, United Democratic Republic of Ireland (Cathair na Mart, Contae Mhaigh Eo, Cúige Chonnacht, Poblacht Dhaonlathach Aontaithe na hÉireann), Brigid was practically born an orphan. Her mother was murdered in a drunken rage by her own father when she was only a toddler, and was almost murdered by him herself, if it weren't for the rapid response intervention of Omnipol's Special Response Units. Her mother had already summoned them, which, on arrival, angered her father into becoming beligerant. Her mother died protecting her, and while Omnipol couldn't save her mother, her mother's protection allowed Omnipol the time to jump into action to save Brigid. Her father was arrested, and imprisoned, and Brigid was taken into professional protective custody by Earth's Federal authorities.
She was well taken care of, but even once she was an adult, she chose not to be told of her parents names - only of what happened to them. Brigid is also transfemme (pronouns: her, she), coming out and beginning her transition later just before the age of 38, in May of 3307.

Brigid would go on to gain a fascination in astro-physics, ground-vehicle driving, aerial and space flight, exobiology, exploration, and also developed a keen passion for professional sub-light spacecraft racing.

In 3304, at age 35, Brigid suffered an almost-fatal occupational accident while performing repairs on an electrical compartment in her vessel at the time while docked at a starport. The electric arc struck her in the face, completely destroying her eyes. Emergency Medical Teams were able to revive and save her life, but not her eyes. However, a charitable medical-cybernetics augmentation corporation was able to fit Brigid with cybernetic eyes that not only restored her vision via bio-technological synaptic cross-interfacing, but also, provided even better vision than before, and even some additional functions and features to help with day to day tasks.

On Saturday, 16 March, 3309, Brigid was promoted the Federal Naval rank of Rear Admiral, and granted command of the Core Dynamics Federal Corvette F.N.S. Cathair na Mart, BR-16F.

On Monday, 18 March, 3309, Brigid commissioned the Lakon Spaceways Alliance Challenger A.D.F. Piranha, BR-18A.

On Sunday, 6 April, 3309, Brigid was granted the Imperial Title of Duchess, and three days later, on Wednesday, 10 April, 3309, granted command of the Gutumaya Imperial Cutter I.N.V. Maeve, BR-10I.
